Gokigen Lovely Days is a free dating sim launched by the Japanese insecticide manufacturer Earth Corporation to promote its cockroach-repellant spray. All four ikemen are voiced by Yuki Kaji.
Gokigen Lovely Days Cockroach Dating Sim Now Live in Japanese
Eren Jaeger’s Yuki Kaji Voices Everyone
Gokigen Lovely Days, or GokiLove for short, was announced by the Japanese pesticide and hygiene product manufacturer Earth Corporation on X (formerly Twitter) on June 4 as a free, browser-based dating sim to promote their new bug-elimination spray, "Earth Gokish Su, Sugoi!" Renowned voice actor Yuki Kaji, known for his roles as Eren Jaeger in Attack on Titan, Shoto Todoroki in My Hero Academia, and Kenma Kozume in Haikyu!!, solely lends his voice to all four cockroach-inspired love interests, as well as the narration.
The game can be played on the dedicated website on PC and mobile devices until September 3, 2026, according to Denfaminicogamer. It notably includes a content warning upon accessing the website, stating: "This game contains highly distressing content. Those who are sensitive or have weak hearts should refrain from playing."
As of now, it is only available in Japanese, and Earth Corporation has yet to comment on an English translation.
Already listed on the Visual Novel Database (VNDB), the otome game also features a promotional video on YouTube showcasing the four attractive male leads (or ikemen) with distinct personalities: Kuro, the princely type; Chaba, the younger boy; Yamato, the traditional Japanese gentleman; and Wamon, the wild type. Their human-sized bug forms, which retain their heads and faces, have been censored in the trailer.
Interestingly, the ikemen's character profiles detail actual biological facts about the different cockroach species found across America, Germany, and Japan, assigned to each character. The other information on their previews also anchors on their insect characterizations.
The "likes" portion consisted of "dark and damp places," "onions, hair," "damp fallen leaves, crevices in decaying wood," and "the bottom of the refrigerator." Meanwhile, they recoil from things such as "big spiders," "well-ventilated, dry places" and "the scent of lavender, loud noises (he'll run away)."
In an article by Denfaminicogamer, Yuki Kaji admitted, while laughing, that he was taken aback when he first learned of the project, given the cleaning product manufacturer’s unexpected tie‑in with a romance game. "This was (likely) my very first time playing 'four bugs' all by myself, but I made sure to carefully analyze each one so that I could truly bring out their unique personalities during the performance."
"A thrilling love story—in more ways than one, as you'd expect from Earth Corporation—is waiting for you," he added. "Please put on your headphones and give it a try!"
Story Leads to Spray Promotion
The dating sim follows the protagonist, whose name can be changed by the player, as she enters a fictional company called "Asu Pharmaceuticals" as a new employee. Just as the unfamiliar training leaves her drained, the four ikemen suddenly appear before her, kicking off the events in the game.
In one of the routes, the protagonist is forced to use the "Goki Jet Pro" spray upon spotting Kuro crawl out of the soil of a houseplant. The story ultimately funnels into a reveal of Earth Corporation’s "Earth Gokish Su, Sugoi!" product that prevents cockroach infestations at home.

In line with GokiLove's release, Earth Corporation's official X account launched a giveaway campaign until June 17 to commemorate Insect Repellent Awareness Day on June 4 in Japan, offering participants a chance to win the following prizes:

To enter, X users must follow the company's official account (@EarthOfficialJP) and repost the designated campaign post. Quote posts will not be counted. A total of 64 winners will be notified via direct message (DM) at a later date.
Moreover, the campaign extends the opportunity for 10 winners to secure an illustration board with Yuki Kaji’s autograph. Entry requires following Earth Corporation’s X account and sharing impressions of the game by replying to or quote‑reposting the campaign post. At a subsequent date, winners will be contacted via DM from the official account.
Otomes With Absurd Love Interests Maintain Popularity
GokiLove's announcement drew hilarious reactions from the otome game community. One user questioned if Yuki Kaji is doing okay, while another jokingly suggested introducing a pilot character to mirror cockroaches that fly. Fans are also looking to potentially play the title in English, despite it being a promotion for an anti-bug spray.
Otome games with unusual, non-human love interests are hardly a new concept. Released in 2011, Hatoful Boyfriend: A School of Hope and Wings is a visual novel on PC, mobile (Android and iOS), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita that drew attention for its cast of sapient birds surrounding the human protagonist. Meanwhile, the 2016 mobile game My Horse Prince became famous for depicting a romance between a young woman and a horse with a human face.
Moving away from animals and leaning into absurdity akin to GokiLove, the 2018 anime Shinya! Tensai Bakabon doubled down on its otome parody, portraying the male leads as various kinds of poop, by following it with an actual browser game. Players can access Unko Danshi: Dokidoki Share House through the serial code included with the anime's second Blu-ray and DVD release.
