Gachiakuta: The Game Gameplay

Gachiakuta: The Game is a survival action RPG. As such, the gameplay loop centers on a mission-based structure where players must enter monster-infested areas known as the Pit to complete objectives. Success depends on the ability to defeat various trash beasts and outlaws while scavenging for valuable discarded objects. To progress, players must secure these items and return to safe areas.

The game appears to have a management and social component centered on the Cleaners Headquarters. Players use the objects acquired during missions to customize and develop this base. This hub serves as a location for "slice-of-life interactions" between the main characters.

According to promotional materials, the game’s combat is fast-paced, much like other action RPGs, such as Zenless Zone Zero. Playable characters, including Rudo, Enjin, Riyo, and Zanka, possess different fighting styles and abilities derived from the series’ power system, where they manifest weapons from the souls of discarded objects. Moreover, the title supports "real-time co-op." Exploration is a factor here, as players can search for and "collect hidden graffiti scattered throughout the Pit."

Gachiakuta: The Game Story

It is currently unknown whether Gachiakuta: The Game will follow a separate storyline or provide a direct adaptation of the existing manga and anime series. Official descriptions from the developer indicate that the title "reinterprets" the setting and atmosphere of the anime to fit the medium.

The original source, though, is about a world divided between privilege and poverty, where those deemed undesirable are cast out of a floating city and discarded into the Pit, a wasteland below. At the center of it is Rudo, a boy born in the slums of the floating city who survives by scavenging what others throw away.

After being falsely accused of murder, he is sentenced to exile and cast into the abyss, a place believed to be nothing more than a dumping ground. Instead, he discovers a hostile environment filled with Trash Beasts, monstrous entities formed from discarded objects.
