Worms: Galactic Tactics Brings the Classic Series to the Modern Era

Worms: Galactic Tactics opened Gamescom 2026’s Future Games Show with its debut trailer, revealing a major shift from the series’ traditional 2D artillery battles to 3D, turn-based tactical combat. Players will assemble a squad of Worms and battle through the multi-stage Galactic Gauntlet, with destructible arenas, Classic Worm weapons, strategic combos, and new enemies standing between them and the arena’s ultimate boss, Emperor Flugg.
The trailer also revealed that the game will bring the series' trademark comedy and chaotic weaponry into its new tactical format, with battles taking place across a variety of arenas. Wolcen 2 Announced for Consoles and PC

Wolcen II, a dark fantasy action RPG sequel to Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem, has finally been announced by developer Wolcen Studio. Set many years after the original game, the story follows The Warlord, bastard son of the Shadow God, and his companions as they emerge from exile. The title features classless character progression, customizable skill and gear combinations, a transformative Shadow Form, and up to four-player co-op gameplay.
Building upon its predecessor’s core mechanics, players will battle cosmic horrors and make impactful narrative choices that determine the world’s ultimate fate. The game is scheduled to launch first in Early Access via Steam in 2027, with a full release on current-generation consoles and PC at a later date.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster Reveals World Premiere of Gameplay Footage

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster, a dark 2D stealth-action platformer from developer Old Skull Games and publisher Dotemu, was showcased during the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2026 with a brand-new gameplay trailer.
The presentation highlighted the game's grim underworld setting, introducing players to Vihneek, a ruthless Skaven assassin of the Clans Eshin. Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern, a cozy tavern management game set in the Forgotten Realms, has officially been announced by Dotemu and Homo Ludens. Escape from Playtime is a 1-4 player co-op horror game set in the Poppy Playtime universe. Each procedurally generated run has players navigating different corners of the abandoned toy factory while avoiding other hostile Playtime Co. creations.

Greak 2: Alliance of the Storms, a hand-drawn Metroidvania sequel to the award-winning Greak: Memories of Azur, has been announced by Team17 and Navegante Entertainment. Continuing the story of siblings Greak and Adara, the narrative follows their arrival in the unexplored realm of Synoraz after fleeing their home.

Graveyard Keeper 2 Coming to PC and Consoles on September 22, 2026

Graveyard Keeper II has been officially announced by tinyBuild and Lazy Bear Games. Elevating players to the status of Grand Inquisitor, the sequel to the dark-comedy medieval cemetery management sim expands its morbid base-building loop by charging players with rebuilding the Town, harvesting natural and human resources for profit, and commanding an undead army in combat.

PixelJunk Monsters 3 Coming Soon, Signups For Private Playtest Begin September 4

Officially announced for the series’ 20th anniversary, PixelJunk Monsters 3 returns to its hand-drawn roots and beloved classic tower-defense gameplay. The new iteration will also include towers, monsters, bosses, roguelike elements, and local co-op.
The game has yet to receive an official release date, but it is already confirmed for release on PC (Steam). Moreover, it will have a private playtest where interested players can sign up for it via the game’s official Discord starting on September 4, 2026.
Breakaway Hockey League Reveals World Premiere Trailer

Breakaway Hockey League is a third-person 4v4 multiplayer sports game where players control only a single skater. The cinematic trailer emphasized no-rules, dirty Hockey, encouraging rough tackles and underhanded tactics. Every stride, deke, pass, and shot is controlled with precise and intuitive controls.

DNA Nemesis Is A 3rd Person Battle Royale Shooter Coming in December 2026

Hillthorn is a "dark investigation game" from Fool Moon and Finnegan Motors, published by Raw Fury. It follows an outsider investigating the disappearance of a child in a secluded mountain community. The case leads deeper into the mountain and its secrets.
The investigation unfolds through cards that represent clues, characters, locations, and actions. Each action advances the clock, so players must choose which leads to pursue as they work toward one of several possible endings. The game is scheduled to launch in November 2026 for PC and consoles, with a demo currently available on Steam.
Last Ditch Effort Reveals Pixel Art Brawler Trailer

Last Ditch Effort has been in development for several years now. Moonwell Games first shared details about the project as far back as 2021. The small indie team spent years developing multiple aspects of the game before it finally received its world premiere at FGS @ Gamescom 2026. It is now planned for release on PC in 2027.
The game is a 2D brawler in a world consumed by an eternal war. It follows Igor Emmerich, "the last Einherjar of a fallen order," as he searches for "a gate where any wish is granted at a heavy price." The story is said to incorporate branching outcomes. Moonwell Games has even previously described three endings and additional "what if" scenarios based on player choice.
The game can now be added to wishlists on Steam.

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival Reveals Negan as Unlockable Survivor

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival aired a trailer featuring shooter and beat ‘em up gameplay with Negan, an unlockable character from AMC’s hit TV series. Players can unlock Negan and his infamous barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat, Lucille, after completing their first playthrough of the game. The upcoming zombie 2D survival side scroller will also include more iconic characters, such as Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne.

With that ability, they are humanity’s last hope in turning their world into a better place to live in.

A Short Quest Showcases Short Gameplay Teaser, Opens Playtest Registration

A Short Quest is a first-person RPG inspired by old-school dungeon crawlers. Set in a handcrafted world of a crumbling Kingdom, the seemingly simple task assigned to the player spirals into a journey of survival. Players navigate the world using melee and magic combat, exploration, looting treasures, talking to NPCs, and leveling up their specializations.
The New King’s Wood playtest is available now on Steam, giving testers access to the first steps in the game’s journey. A Short Quest plans to fully release in 2027.
CLUTCH Available For Wishlist Now

CLUTCH gets a deep dive from Maverick Games’ Creative Director, Mike Brown. It is a cinematic open-world driving game that follows siblings Theo and Cass, two racing prodigies who live life on the edge as professional racing drivers by day and underground street racers by night. The game is set in the gorgeous backdrop of the French Riviera, known for its driving roads and its ties to motorsports. Aside from the action-pumping driving mechanics, it also strives to deliver a heartfelt narrative about two siblings hoping to find their place in the world.

Serious Sam: Shatterverse Coming to PC and Consoles on August 31, 2026

Serious Sam: Shatterverse is a co-op roguelite arcade-style first-person shooter designed for 1 to 5 players. The game follows multiple versions of Sam as they travel across fractured universes to stop Uber Mental and defeat his five powerful lieutenants.
Players fight through procedurally shifting runs across multiple universes, using a mix of Serious Sam classics and new weapons against familiar enemies. Each run lets players collect powerful boons, stack modifiers, and unlock permanent upgrades that open up more possibilities for future attempts. It is set to release for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 31, 2026.
JOIN US Invites Players to Look Forward to Its March 2027 Release

JOIN US is a co-op survival game where players start their own doomsday cult in a bid to survive the Apocalypse. Teams of up to 4 players can recruit followers, build the cult’s compound from scratch, write down the cult’s beliefs, and even take down the dissenters and enemies with guns and weapons. Its short but sweet trailer showcases the various activities players can take on as they grow their cult, such as building together, harvesting from the communal garden, making sacrifices to the ancient ones, and stockpiling firearms to defend against opponents.
This cult simulator title makes its way to PC and consoles in March 2027.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer Talks About Development

Star Wars: Galactic Racer Developer, Fuse Games goes in depth on how the game aims to innovate the genre through its unique campaign mode and unique vehicle types. The former aims to add replayability by letting players flaunt their mastery and skill through its run-based story mode.
The latter showcases its engaging gameplay loop, in which the Landspeeder, Speeder Bike, Skim Speeder, and Pod Racer each have distinct strengths and racing lines for achieving victory. The contrasting win conditions create chaos and interaction in races, as players will have to navigate the track and their opponents to avoid going last.

Hieronymus Is A Weird, Surreal Medieval Adventure Through A Painter’s Eyes

Hieronymus is a story-driven first-person action-adventure inspired by the surreal paintings of Hieronymus Bosch. Set in the early 16th century merged with the surreal depictions of Bosch’s art, the game follows Helena van Aken in a hell-like version of Würzburg during the German Peasants' War.
Players can deal with the twisted creatures through alchemy, direct combat, or catching and taming. The game is slated for a Steam release on an unannounced launch date.
Aion 2 Gears Up For October 5th Release

AION 2 received a new trailer during Gamescom 2026's Opening Night Live, where NCSoft confirmed the MMORPG's global release date. The game is officially launching on October 5, 2026, across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia on PC via Steam and NCSoft's PURPLE platform. Ahead of launch, NCSoft will hold a Launch Scale Test from September 17 to 18, allowing players to experience the game while the developer checks server and infrastructure stability.
The latest showcase gives players another look at AION 2's expansive world and aerial-focused gameplay. The MMORPG features a field 36 times larger than the original Aion, allowing players to freely fly across its environments, alongside extensive character customization, manual combat, large-scale PvE dungeons, and powerful boss encounters. The game has also continued receiving major content updates, including new classes, regions, dungeons, and PvP systems ahead of its global launch.
WARDOGS Launches on September 10th in Early Access

WARDOGS combines tactical gunplay, high-action arms combat, and dynamic building and destruction mechanics in a large-scale 100-player military sandbox. Three teams play in a unique "king-of-the-hill" game mode, where they use everything in their arsenal, from high-caliber ordnance to heavily armored tanks, to take control of the point.
Cash is king in WARDOGS, as players will be taxed to buy loadouts. As such, players are incentivized to play for their team, either solo or as part of a dedicated squad, to earn even more cash and unlock stronger weapons of mass destruction, eventually winning the match.
WARDOGS releases in Early Access on September 10, 2026 for PC (Steam).
The Journey Home Presents A Heartfelt Narrative

The Journey Home, an atmospheric side-scrolling puzzle platformer made by a husband and wife duo, was featured during the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2026 with a brand-new trailer. The showcase highlighted the game’s stress-free, contemplative aesthetic, set within a surreal world existing beyond the traditional boundaries of time and space.
Alongside the new trailer reveal, it was announced during the presentation that players can dive into the experience right away, with an official playable demo launching on Steam. The Journey Home is slated for its full release on PC later in Q4 2026.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault 1.0 Drops on September 2

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault revealed a new gameplay trailer ahead of its September 2 1.0 release after nine months of Early Access. It showcased its signature action roguelike mechanics, mixed with a new 3D visual style and a new world to explore.
Much like the first game, it follows the protagonist as he lives a double life of an adventurer and a merchant, clearing otherworldly dimensions in the Endless Vault of loot in one half while also being an entrepreneur to maximize profits.
Everwind Is Coming to Consoles in 2027

Everwind was featured during the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2026, where the developers showcased their upcoming "Winds of Creation & Beyond" update. The announcement included a new trailer and revealed the game's highest discount to date at 25%, giving players another look at the open-world survival RPG as development continues.
The update is set to expand Everwind with new content and features, building on its existing mix of exploration, crafting, base building, and combat across procedurally generated floating islands. The game is already available in Early Access on PC via Steam and is also coming to consoles.
The Sinking City 2 Will Receive a Switch 2 Version in 2027

Sword Sage: Awakening appeared at the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2026 with a new gameplay trailer, giving players their latest look at the Chinese mythology-inspired action RPG. The footage showcased protagonist Pei Sanniang battling supernatural Yaoguai across the fantastical landscapes of Jiannandao, while highlighting the game's fast-paced swordplay and martial arts combat.
Sword Sage: Awakening remains in development with no confirmed release date, but the Gamescom showcase confirmed that it is coming to PC and consoles.
Tides of Annihilation Talks About Protagonist Gwendolyn and The Knights of the Round Table

Tides of Annihilation did not receive a more concrete release date during FGS, but it did get a developer deep dive, with Eclipse Glow Games taking a closer look at its Arthurian-inspired world and combat. They showed more of Gwendolyn’s journey through a ruined version of modern-day London, where she fights alongside spectral versions of the Knights of the Round Table. The segment also introduced Lancelot, whose swordplay complements Gwendolyn’s own style of fighting.
The deep dive further explored the role of the Knights in combat, with each one having different abilities and roles that can give Gwendolyn an edge in battles. The game is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with its release date still to be announced.
Guns of Eschaton by Viktor Antonov of Dishonored Fame Reveals New Trailer

Guns of Eschaton is somehow a marriage of two genres: Soulslike and first-person shooter. It takes place in an alternate 19th-century American West after a supernatural catastrophe known as the Burning and follows a gunslinger who must make their way through a frontier full of monsters and figures drawn from Western history and folklore.
The game is planned for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2026, with a specific release date yet to be announced.
WWI: Gallipoli Ottoman Fronts Now Available On PC and Console

WWI: Gallipoli - Ottoman Fronts, a tactical multiplayer first-person shooter from developer and publisher BlackMill Games, was featured during Gamescom 2026’s Future Games Show with a brand new gameplay trailer. The presentation highlighted the game's 50-player objective-based battles, showcasing World War I trench warfare and desert expeditions across the historical Middle Eastern and Ottoman fronts.
Alongside the fresh footage, it was officially announced during the showcase that the game is out now. Players can dive straight into the brutal, grounded PvP combat and historical arsenal on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Nailcrown Is a Dark Fantasy Shooter That Promises a Gorefest

Nailcrown unveiled a new gameplay trailer showcasing bloody, brutal combat against hordes of the undead, with fast-paced gunplay and hard-hitting melee weapons. Nailguns, shotguns, swords, and warhammers are among the weapons players can choose from in this gore-soaked fantasy action RPG set in a dark medieval world where a necromancer awaits rescue. Nailcrown has yet to receive an official release date, but wishlisting is currently open on Steam.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Releases August 27th

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy appeared during FGS with a launch trailer to remind viewers of its release the following day, August 27, 2026. The game sees young plunderer Sophia travel to an island in search of answers about her own past. Her journey, though, takes her into the remains of an ancient civilization that’s somehow connected to her.
We at Game8 had the chance to review Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy ahead of its release and awarded it an 86/100. Exterminauts Developer Diary Reveals More About The Alien Pest Control Shooter

Behaviour Interactive Creative Director Vincent Regimbald and Senior Producer Nicolas Joye shared a deeper look into their co-op PvE shooter where players band together in squads of three to repair and exterminate alien pests on the planet of Tian. The planet was discovered to harbor a new energy source called polymorphic plasma. However, it also attracts the hostile aliens who want the energy for themselves.
Each round will last for 20 to 40 minutes, gunning down waves and waves of hostile alien lifeforms while waiting for extraction at the end. Once at the Rig, upgrades can be purchased and equipment can be enhanced, ready for the next shift. Exterminauts is coming to PC and consoles in 2027.
Mr. Records Coming to Switch 2

MR. RECORDS is a rhythm-adventure title from Wired Productions and Glee-Cheese Studio. It follows George, an old dreamer who breaks away from daily routine to open his long-awaited vinyl shop. The game transforms every record into an imaginative, interactive world where players run, jump, slide, and execute perfectly timed actions in sync with changing music.
Along with a trailer featuring the core gameplay loop, the developers confirmed that it will also release for Nintendo Switch 2 in addition to PC. An official release date has not yet been announced.
Into the Wind Playtest Sign-ups Open Now

Into the Wind got a developer diary during the showcase, where Bloom & Gloom Games introduced several of the game’s elements. Players travel across the Santa Rosa archipelago aboard Ermes, a sentient motorcycle-plane, as they deliver packages and search for their missing uncle. As they do so, they get to know the locals and defend themselves against sky pirates.
The game does not yet have a release date for its full release or Steam Early Access launch. Playtest sign-ups, though, are now open on Steam, so players can give the game a shot before its release.
NO LAW Devs Talk About Permadeath Mechanic And Its Cyberpunk World

NO LAW was featured during FGS @ Gamescom 2026, where Neon Giant gave a closer look at its cyberpunk action game. It follows Grey Harker, a former military operative whose attempt at a life in the neon-soaked city is cut short by a return to violence. Players can rely on combat or stealth as they explore the city’s dense streets and uncover more of Harker’s story, with their choices carrying consequences along the way.
The game is coming to PC and consoles in 2027, although a specific release date has yet to be announced.
Arizona Sunshine Showcases New Gameplay Trailer and Community Challenge

Arizona Sunshine, the smash-hit zombie survival franchise from Vertigo Games, is shedding its VR roots and expanding into an explosive third-person action game. A new gameplay trailer delivers into the title’s dark humor, limb-severing combat, and narrative campaign across a zombie-infested desert. The showcase also highlights local split-screen and online co-op, and a global community challenge with unlockable in-game rewards.
It’s scheduled to launch for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Ritual Tides Debuts Skin-Crawling First-Person Gameplay Trailer

Ritual Tides debuted a gameplay trailer showcasing first-person traversal and combat mechanics against Lovecraftian horrors. Vertpaint’s upcoming psychological survival horror leaves players stranded on the remote British island of Hortus with no memory of who they are or how they got there. After waking up in the company of odd-looking strangers, players must uncover the truth about the island and themself by gathering resources and fighting monsters. Ritual Tides is currently open for wishlisting on Steam.

Future Games Show has yet to reveal the full lineup, though it has confirmed several appearances ahead of the broadcast.
Angela Sant'Albano (Grace Ashcroft, Resident Evil Requiem) and Nick Apostolides (Leon S. Kennedy, Resident Evil Requiem) will serve as hosts for the showcase. It will be streamed through its official YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as GamesRadar+, with the official YouTube broadcast having additional language options through its international feed.
