Five Nights At Freddy’s Creator’s Cryptic FNAF Teaser Has Fans Connecting It to Fortnite
A New FNAF Teaser Arrives as Fortnitemares Gets Announced
Five Nights at Freddy's (FNAF) creator, Scott Cawthon, posted a cryptic teaser on X showing Freddy's silhouette alongside a question mark. He didn't reveal what the teaser represents, leaving fans to speculate about what's coming next.
The timing immediately caught the attention of Fortnite and FNAF fans. Scott's post appeared on the same day Epic Games announced this year's Fortnitemares event, while players had already been pointing to a suspicious location on Fortnite's island that looked familiar to FNAF fans.
A Fortnite Location Has Fans Seeing FNAF References
An unfinished building on the Fortnite island has been compared by players to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, particularly because of its stage-like interior. The location first caught the community's attention in August, with fans pointing out similarities between its layout and locations seen throughout the FNAF games and movie.
Players later noticed additional signs and details appearing around the structure including a kitchen area with pizza boxes and what appears to be a Parts and Service room. The building also features a green roof, yellow exterior walls, and a central entrance that resemble the movie's Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, while the stage inside recalls the area where Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica perform in the original game. The location has since become one of the main pieces of evidence fans are pointing to when discussing a possible connection between Fortnite and FNAF.
The Timing Has Fans Connecting the Dots
The timing of Scott's post is particularly interesting because Fortnite announced that Fortnitemares 2026 will begin on October 1. The annual Halloween event has previously featured horror-themed content and collaborations, making it a natural place for fans to look when a mysterious FNAF teaser appears at the same time.
The pizzeria-like location had already been circulating among players before Scott's post, so the new teaser gave those discussions fresh momentum. What had previously been a collection of FNAF comparisons suddenly became part of a much larger conversation surrounding what Scott could be teasing.
Fans Are Already Speculating About a Fortnite Crossover
Large Fortnite accounts like HYPEX and ShiinaBR were among those who quickly connected Scott's teaser to Fortnite. Their posts helped push the theory further across the Fortnite community, with fans revisiting the mysterious location and the timing of the Fortnitemares announcement.
Other fans have suggested possible outcomes ranging from FNAF characters appearing in Fortnite to a Freddy Fazbear's Pizza location being added to the island. Some have also pointed out that the clues may have completely different explanations, leaving the community to debate what Scott's question mark could actually mean.
For now, Fortnite remains only a theory. Scott Cawthon has not revealed what the question mark represents, and neither the pizzeria-like location nor the timing of his post confirms a crossover.
With Fortnitemares beginning October 1, fans may not have to wait long to find out whether the clues are connected or whether the teaser is pointing toward something completely different.
