FGO Surges to No. 1 in August

Image

Fate/Grand Order (FGO) made the biggest jump among the games covered by the data. The game rose from seventh place in July to first place in August. GachaRevenue estimates its "combined" mobile revenue across available regions at $41.17 million for the month. Its July estimate stood at $21.24 million. This is an increase of nearly 94%.

FGO’s increase coincided with its 11th-anniversary campaign in Japan, which began on August 2. The anniversary featured several major summons, including the Guaranteed Lucky Bag Summon, Destiny Order, and Beast Order, all of which gave players more ways to spend Saint Quartz (premium currency) to obtain Servants (playable characters). The anniversary further introduced Hassan-i-Sabbah, also known as Azrael, through a pickup summon.

Moreover, the game reached first place on Japan’s Google Play revenue chart on six of the first seven days of August, a period that overlapped with the anniversary. FGO launched its 2026 summer event on August 12, alongside several new pickup summons featuring limited Servants. FGO remained at the top of Japan’s Google Play revenue rankings throughout the following two weeks.

Love and Deepspace Climbs Back Into the Top 10

Love and Deepspace recorded a substantial recovery from the figures it gained in July. GachaRevenue estimates $17.72 million in mobile revenue for August, up from $10.31 million in July. The game consequently rose from 17th place to 10th, an increase of roughly 72% month over month. This follows a sharp decline in spending during the controversy surrounding Valko, a planned sixth romantic interest.

For context, Infold canceled Valko’s planned release after player backlash. Due to this, the developer later announced that Love and Deepspace would no longer introduce new romantic interests. Other estimates put the game’s mobile revenue at around $38 million in June before it fell to approximately $10 million in July. The dispute centered on criticism of Valko and concerns over material associated with his planned introduction. Parts of the player base responded through protests and a spending boycott.

The game received several new limited Memories during August. Caleb received a limited 5-Star Memory early in the month, followed by Rafayel’s limited Memory Pair later in August. Love and Deepspace’s estimated revenue recovered to $17.72 million, though the figure remained below its earlier levels. The game had reached roughly $30 million to $40 million in several previous months, including an estimated $38 million in June.

Wuthering Waves and hololive Dreams Nearly Tie at $24 Million

Image

Wuthering Waves and hololive Dreams recorded almost identical revenue estimates. Both games reached approximately $24 million in mobile revenue. Wuthering Waves, though, fell from $27 million in July, while hololive Dreams rose from $17 million.

hololive Dreams launched globally on July 23. Its $17 million estimate for July covered only part of its first month, making August its first full month of service. The game held several summer-themed events during the month, including Synced Summer Sparkles and a limited event that featured Mori Calliope, Nakiri Ayame, Kureiji Ollie, Himemori Luna, and Ninomae Ina’nis. Another event featuring hololive Gamers members Fubuki, Mio, Okayu, and Korone began on August 29.

Wuthering Waves, meanwhile, received Version 3.6 on August 20. The update added new 5-Star Resonators Qingxiao and Jingran, as well as new story content.

Neverness to Everness Revenue Barely Changes in August

Image

Neverness to Everness remained almost unchanged in estimated revenue. GachaRevenue puts the game at $10.73 million for August, compared with $10.83 million in July. The difference amounts to roughly $100,000. NTE fell from 15th place to 17th as other games moved ahead. Its estimated revenue declined by less than 1%.

The figure came during the launch period for Version 1.3, Rising from the Moonlit Fog. The update arrived on August 19 and introduced the new S-Class characters Zankou and Linko. It continued the Scarlet Letter storyline and opened the Fogden and Duskmoor areas. Version 1.3 further added a new limited Arc and a Nanally rerun.

Arknights: Endfield Mobile Revenue Drops by 38%

Image

Notably, Arknights: Endfield recorded a sharper decline in estimated revenue. Its estimates for the month of August are $6.04 million, down from its $9.79 million in July. This is a roughly 38% decline; it fell from 19th place in July to 27th place this month.

The decline came during Endfield’s Homecoming update. It introduced new Operators and other content across July and August, with Liino’s 6-star rate-up beginning on August 9. The Howlers of the Crag challenge series began on August 6, followed by a new spatial set for the Delver of the Cryptic event on August 19. That is, there is no shortage of new content during the month.

Despite this, those releases did not prevent the decline in estimated mobile revenue. This follows a brief recovery in June. PocketGamer’s analysis of AppMagic data found that the game’s mobile spending increased by "87%" to around $10 million that month, with two spending spikes tied to new content released around Version 1.3. Spending fell again in July before dropping again this month.

There was plenty of movement across the rankings in August, with several games seeing their positions change significantly from July. The rankings will undoubtedly look different when September’s numbers arrive.
