City of the Wolves Receives a Huge Price Drop
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves celebrates its first anniversary with a permanent price drop across all digital storefronts and a major update that adds new game modes, stages, and more content. The game’s Standard Edition can now be purchased at $19.99, with the game’s Season Pass 1 now being available as a separate purchase for $14.99.
This marks a significant shift in the game’s pricing, as City of the Wolves’ Standard Edition previously came bundled with Season Pass 1 and was priced at $59.99. While this is still below industry-standard AAA title pricing, which usually averages at around $69.99, the game still struggled to meet sales expectations despite a massive marketing campaign and generally positive reception from fans and critics.
The price drop seems to reflect SNK’s effort to lower the barrier to entry for new players. Fans on social media have been excited about the overall changes coming to City of the Wolves across, with some prospective players noting that the game looks entirely revamped and easier to get into.
Fatal Fury Revs Up for Wolfgang Krauser and its 1st Anniversary
Fatal Fury: CITY OF THE WOLVES has received a major update for its 1st anniversary, which introduces a unique RPG-inspired story mode, an overhauled UI, and new stages and cosmetics. These changes were teased ahead of time a few days ago when SNK announced the arrival of Wolfgang Krauser to the game as a playable DLC fighter.
The new game mode, "Wolves Destiny," is the first story mode of its kind in the Fatal Fury series and sees the return of crime lord and recurring antagonist Wolfgang Krauser to South Town, facing off against Kain R. Heinlen for control of the city. Wolves Destiny takes place after the game’s arcade mode and Episodes of South Town endings and will contain multiple, branching storylines and endings of its own.
Meanwhile, the addition of the "Second South Central" stage introduces "ring-out" style battles into City of the Wolves. This is a classic battle style first seen in the original Real Bout Fatal Fury series, where players can knock opponents off the screen to win a match, regardless of their overall health.
The game has also received a massive UI overhaul that streamlines navigation, allowing players to instantly access Training Mode with a single button press and reorganizes the menus for better flow. Since this update comes alongside Wolfgang Krauser’s addition to the game, characters across the roster have also received balance changes that target invincibility hurtboxes on certain moves.
