Dragon Age: Inquisition Multiplayer Services End for PS3

Other Platforms Remain Unaffected By Shutdown

Dragon Age: Inquisition PS3 servers are set to shut down on April 28, 2026, according to an update spotted by Delisted Games on Electronic Arts’ (EA) official Service Updates page. The change will bring an end to the game’s multiplayer features on the platform, affecting players who still access the title on Sony’s two-decade-old console.

The shutdown applies only to online functionality on PS3, including the game’s standalone co-op multiplayer mode, with other platforms remaining unaffected. It remains unclear whether this will impact integration with Dragon Age Keep, BioWare’s web-based tool for carrying over player choices across the series, on PlayStation 3, as Electronic Arts has not provided further details beyond the removal of multiplayer services.

Originally released in 2014, Dragon Age: Inquisition is a critically acclaimed action role-playing game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. As the third mainline entry in the Dragon Age series, the game follows the Inquisitor as they attempt to restore order to the world of Thedas while sealing a catastrophic tear in the sky known as the Breach.

Dragon Age’s Reliance on World State Carryover

While the web-based platform itself is expected to remain available, the change raises questions about whether PS3 players will still be able to import their custom world states, as the feature relies on online connectivity.

One of the defining features of the Dragon Age franchise is its emphasis on player choice, carried across multiple titles. Decisions made in earlier entries like Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II can shape characters, political outcomes, and major story events in later games, creating a personalized "world state" that reflects each player’s journey.

Early reactions online have been relatively subdued, with some players expressing surprise that PS3 online services for the title remained active for as long as they did. Some discussion has also referenced Dragon Age: The Veilguard and its decision to move away from the Dragon Age Keep system, though no changes to the service itself have been announced.
