Disney Sparklink Stars Pre-Registrations Open
Release Date Points To Sometime This 2026
Disney Sparklink Stars officially opens pre-registrations for Android and iOS ahead of an unspecified release date. The Apple App Store page lists the "release date" to be for December 31st, 2026, presumably as a placeholder, but it sets the idea that the game is still aiming for a 2026 release. As posted on the official Sparklink Stars X (Twitter), the game will release exclusively for Japan, with no formal plans of a global expansion as of writing.
A pre-registration campaign has also begun, with a goal of 700,000 pre-registrations to acquire all prizes, such as Offer Letters (what appears to be pullable currency for Spark Stars' Memories or cards), a set of Training Items (Dance, Sing, and Act Charge), a chance to win Sparklink Stars merchandise for 3 lucky players, and even a 3-Star Memory Offer Letter as the grand prize. As of writing, the game already hit the 300,000 milestone, securing future players a Training Item set and 4 Offer Letters.
Match-3 Gameplay System, On The Stage
Players take on the role of the Conductor, an individual who trains and acts as the producer for idol-like male performers called Spark Riders, who shine on stage events called Spark Rides.
With a total of 15 Spark Riders to nurture spread across four groups, Conductors will take on challenges in a match-3 puzzle game style "with cute visuals, background music, and stage-specific gimmicks." Clearing puzzles makes way for the growth of Spark Riders, levelling them up and acquiring skills to better shine when performing in Spark Rides.
Players can also experience individual character stories, each with their own unique narratives depicting their growth, bonds, and daily lives.
Fans Express Excitement For Upcoming Disney Idol Game

From its first announcement, the game enjoyed a very warm reception on social media, with its follower count on X (Twitter) quickly rising to the 100k mark within two months. Curious players shared that they were drawn by the game's idol-like aesthetic with Disney characters, and its "joseimuke" (female-oriented game) genre. Their attention only grew when the Spark Riders were revealed one by one on the game's X (Twitter), some going viral with more unique inspirations such as Roz, the slug lady from Monster's Inc., in lieu of more "traditional" choices like the Disney princes and princesses.
Even the Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella-inspired groups Endelore and Midveil stepped out of the box, having characters like Sous Chevliel represent the movie's rose, and the twins Ash and Rent Fragile a nod to Cinderella's pair of glass slippers or her stepsisters. While none of these are directly confirmed by developer Coly or Disney, eager fans have already jumped on the train theorizing and speculating their origins.
As of writing, it boasts over 296,409 followers on X (Twitter) alone, with its YouTube subscribers at 78k. The community is active and hyped, with fanart of the Spark Riders continuously making rounds on social media sites with thousands of likes. Despite not having a release date just yet, the growing Sparklink fanbase is keeping it hyped and alive as it nears its launch.
