Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss focuses heavily on first-person exploration and investigation. Players must examine their surroundings and collect clues to slowly piece together what caused the disappearance of a community in an underwater base.
Puzzle Solving & Investigation
Noah’s primary goal is to investigate what happened in a derelict mining colony. Throughout the game, puzzle-solving and key investigative elements form the core gameplay loop.
Activities such as examining photographs or collecting blood samples are essential to progressing the story.
Key, an AI companion, assists throughout the journey by analyzing findings and helping organize Noah’s thoughts.
As players dive deeper into the underwater ruins of R'lyeh, Noah is driven to uncover the truth while overcoming hallucinatory obstacles.

Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss Story Plot
Set in a dystopia where humanity has begun exploring the ocean for resources, the story follows Noah, an investigator tasked with investigating a mysterious disappearance at sea. He works for a government group that handles unusual and supernatural cases called ANCILE, which soon leads him to a remote and dangerous location in the Pacific Ocean.
His investigation leads him towards the hidden city of R’lyeh, a place tied to an ancient and powerful cosmic entity. As Noah slowly unearths what happened to the missing group, he is exposed to strange events that challenge his sanity and understanding of his current reality. And the deeper Noah goes, the more he risks losing his grip on his mind while trying to complete the task at hand.
