Crystal of Atlan's developer, Nuverse, has officially revealed its crossover teaser with The King of Fighters ’98, bringing the kunoichi Mai Shiranui to the magicpunk world of Atlan as an event boss alongside exclusive cosmetic outfits, a pet, and themed challenge rewards. The event will arrive on August 27th.
The newly released trailer showcases a battle between a Cloudstrider and Mai Shiranui as she utilizes her signature ninjutsu. It concludes with a teaser for Sugariff, the "Fighter's Third class branch." Officialy described as a someone who "throws punches like drumbeats and wields music like a blade," Sugariff is an upcoming new playable class.
In an official statement shared alongside the update, the developers celebrated the crossover: "The fiery fan dance returns with a classic legend in combat—Accept her invitation and join us in an unforgettable fighting fest!"
Dancing With Flames Challenges and New Cosmetics
Alongside Mai Shiranui's arrival, the collaboration update rolls out the "Dancing With Flames" challenge battles and the "Flame Dance Pact" check-in event. Players participating in these limited-time activities can earn a wide array of rewards, including collaboration emoticons, baubles, auras, and exclusive avatar frames.
Additionally, specific cosmetic items have been made available, including the "Flaming Butterfly" outfit for the Fighter and Musketeer classes, a chibi Mai Shiranui pet, the "Crimson Firefan" avatar frame, and the "Dancing With Flames" title.
