Control Resonant’s latest behind-the-scenes video revealed that Remedy’s sequel will feature multiple factions, more enemy creatures, and one unusual threat in the form of a bus.
Control Resonant Reveals Multiple Factions and More Enemy Creatures
Remedy Details Factions and Enemy Variety in Warped Manhattan
Control Resonant steps outside the Oldest House and into a warped Manhattan in Remedy Entertainment’s latest behind-the-scenes video, "A Paranaturally Warped Manhattan."
The five-minute development diary shows how the sequel moves beyond the original game’s setting and into a distorted version of New York City, now filled with different factions and reality-bending threats.

As a primer, Control Resonant is the sequel to Remedy’s 2019 action game Control, a supernatural action title centered on the Federal Bureau of Control and its investigations into strange objects, warped spaces, and hostile forces. While the first game focused on Jesse Faden inside the shifting walls of the Oldest House, Control Resonant follows her brother, Dylan Faden, as the conflict expands outside it.
With a bigger map and broader scope, Control Resonant features multiple factions. According to Lead Level Designer Anne-Marie Grönroos, their presence changes depending on the zone players explore, meaning some parts of Manhattan may feature several groups at once, while other areas may be shaped more heavily by specific enemy forces or environmental conditions.
Remedy Says Control Resonant Has Way More Creatures Than the First Game

The video also addressed additional enemy variety. Lead Gameplay Animator Annika Lehtinen said the team heard feedback from the first Control and tried to address it in Control Resonant, adding that the sequel has "way more creatures" than before.
One of the stranger enemies shown in the video is a bus-like threat on a city street. Lehtinen said the team had to figure out what a supernatural bus could actually do in motion, which made it a challenge to animate. It is a small detail, but it also points to the sequel’s goal of turning ordinary parts of Manhattan into threats that fit the series’ reality-bending tone.

Control Resonant is not leaving the first game’s threats behind, though. Official game descriptions point to the return of the Hiss, the hostile presence that corrupted people and spaces in the first Control, and the Mold, an invasive supernatural growth found in the Oldest House.
New Game Plus Lets Players Carry Over Builds and Abilities

Remedy also shared new details about Control Resonant’s New Game Plus through a PlayStation Blog post. According to Lead Gameplay Designer Sergey Mohov, the mode lets players begin a fresh playthrough while carrying over much of what they earned, including Aberrant upgrades, health and combat ability resource improvements, unlocked supernatural combat abilities, talents, and artifacts.
Traversal abilities will not carry over, however, as Remedy said that those remain tied to story progression and how the world unfolds. New Game Plus adds more flexibility through new talent nodes, a fourth artifact slot, and the ability to equip multiple combat abilities from the same boss.
PlayStation Blog describes the escalated challenge directly: "Enemies grow more dangerous, encounters shift, and even familiar fights can take on new dimensions." The post also notes that some bosses may show new behaviors, giving returning players more reason to revisit World Quests, bounties, collectibles, and side stories.
