Control Resonant Delays Physical Release Despite Going Gold

Jesse Faden and Dylan Faden

Control Resonant has gone gold, but Remedy Entertainment has announced a last-minute delay for its physical release. While the digital launch stays on September 24, 2026, physical copies are pushed to October 15, 2026.

Control Resonant Goes Gold But Physical Edition Faces Last-Minute Delay

Digital Launch Remains on Schedule for September 24

Control Resonant's developer Remedy Entertainment has announced that the game has gone gold, meaning development on the 1.0 master code is complete. However, the studio revealed in the same announcement that physical copies of the game will hit store shelves almost a month later. Digital editions for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S will still launch on September 24; players wanting a physical disc will have to wait until October 15.

In a statement shared on social media, Control Resonant developers addressed the holdup: "CONTROL Resonant has gone gold! Get ready to unleash Dylan Faden's paranatural abilities in warped Manhattan on September 24th. The physical release date for the game has moved to October 15th. We need just a little more time to deliver the physical version to you, but rest assured – nothing stays contained forever."

Following the announcement, fan reactions across social media have been mixed. While digital-first players are thrilled that the game is finished and arriving on time, physical media collectors expressed frustration over having to wait three weeks longer than everyone else, noting how it makes dodging internet spoilers much harder.

With the master code officially certified, digital players won't experience any changes to the September 24 launch window. For more information on Control Resonant, including its full release date, platforms, and editions, check out the article below!
