CODE VEIN 2 Mask of Idris DLC Release Date Marked For Summer
A New Story and New Realm to Explore
CODE VEIN II has revealed that the long-awaited DLC, Mask of Idris, is coming soon, slated for a Summer 2026 launch. It was previously announced as part of the Deluxe and Ultimate Edition bundles, and players with these editions will get the DLC for free.
While a release window has not been officially announced on the game’s websites or social media accounts, Code Vein Director and Game Designer Hiroshi Yoshimura teased that the game would launch sometime in Summer 2026, between July and September, during a special interview segment for Famitsu’s 40th anniversary.
Players wishing to play the Mask of Idris DLC must finish the following requirements:
⚫︎ Completed the second ending of the game, Luna Fraterna
⚫︎ Completed the quest "Request From a Friend: Valentin", or progressed until "Discussion with Valentin: MagMell Island Tome"
New Character Liv Vorda Arrives
A new character comes in the form of Liv Vorda, who is Valentin Voda’s half-sister. She had abandoned her duties as the guardian of the "Space-Time Rift" due to boredom and has been away from the region ever since, only to join the protagonist as a new ally. She has a fiery, combative personality, and her red hair and red eyes glow brightly at high emotional states.
The DLC appears to be set in a new realm called the "Waste World" where worlds torn apart by historical revision linger. The strong emotions of these worlds and its inhabitants have converged into a large entity that drastically continues to expand, threatening time, space, and the real world.
An alternate version of the Lou MagMell from the base game appears to be present. She is a vampire girl from that particular realm whose goal is to stop the expansion of the Waste World and its entity. Instead of joining forces with the protagonist, though, she implores him to leave the realm and its dangers.
Version 2.0 Release Along With DLC
Furthermore, Version 2.0 will be released simultaneously with the DLC expansion, all for free. Bandai Namco has assured that there will be "several updates," including one that allows for post-game exploration with their companions.
More details will be announced as the game nears its release.
