Closers Opens Global Pre-Registration Following Its Revival
New Global Server Confirmed; More Details to Come
Closers has officially opened global pre-registrations for a new server, as announced through an official press release. This move comes just a bit over a month after Closers World had ended operations on June 24, 2026. The EoS was followed by a farewell statement from developer Naddic Games, citing operational circumstances as the main reason for its shutdown.
Papaya Play, an online publisher under Vertigo Games America, has partnered with Naddic Games to relaunch the game on a fresh global server, giving both returning Agents and newcomers the Closers experience. However, neither Papaya Play nor Naddic Games has confirmed an exact launch period for the game. Further specifics are expected to roll out through the official Closers website and channels, as the release date nears.

Players who pre-register ahead of launch will receive the following rewards once the new server goes live:
⚫︎ Jumping Mission One-shot (instantly boosts a character to max level)
⚫︎ Unique Costume
⚫︎ Costume Select Box
⚫︎ Additional in-game starter items
Rewards are limited to one claim per account and will be distributed after the official launch. Papaya Play is also running community quizzes and milestone events through the official Closers Discord in the lead-up to launch, offering players extra ways to earn rewards.
History of the Long-Running MMO

Closers first launched in South Korea in 2014 and was developed by Naddic Games, a studio founded by former members of KOG Games, the developers of the action MMORPG Elsword. The game found its identity in side-scrolling, combo-heavy action combat layered with MMO progression systems, following psychic agents called Closers as they battled interdimensional threats in a supernatural version of Seoul.
Its journey outside Korea hasn’t exactly been smooth. Closers launched in North America and Europe in 2017 under publisher En Masse Entertainment, the same company known for publishing MMORPG TERA Online. That arrangement lasted until Krafton, En Masse's parent company, shut down the publisher's operations entirely, leaving Closers' western counterpart without a home. Rather than let things end there, Naddic Games took over publishing duties directly and relaunched the title as a unified global server in 2020, keeping the game alive for Western fans for several more years under its own management.
That global server, later rebranded Closers World, ran for roughly five additional years before Naddic announced its closure in May 2026. The shutdown became official on June 24, 2026, closing out an 11-year run for the game, even as the original Korean server continued operating uninterrupted throughout.
Concerned Outlook From the Community

The reaction from the Closers community has been a combination of confusion and lingering frustration. The biggest issue for longtime fans, though, is that character data and progress from Closers World will not carry over to the new server. For most players who spent years building up their characters, that detail has dampened a lot of the excitement around the announcement. Early impressions have been mixed, with players unsure if they’d want to jump back into the game.
Even with those concerns, curiosity around the relaunch remains high, particularly with new content already teased for the fresh server. The announcement also comes with new character designs and reveals alongside the Isla Ritmo swimsuit collection featuring characters like Ria, Seha, Violet, Mois, Cheolsu, Mirae, Nata, and more, shown off in a recent promotional video. Whether that's enough to bring lapsed players back in meaningful numbers will likely become clearer once the new server actually launches. Closers is an upcoming game from Naddic Games and Papaya Play, with no release date confirmed at this time. For more info on it, check the page below:
