Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection Launches Additional Story: Rudy Today

Additional Side Story: Rudy Title Card

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection's new DLC, Additional Side Story: Rudy, will be available starting today after the Capcom Spotlight presentation. It will be available to purchase on all its respective platforms, and players with the Deluxe or Premium Deluxe editions will get to play it for free.

This new DLC follows the party’s Royal Felyne companion, Rudy, as he meets his ancestor, Navirou from the original Monster Hunter Stories, in a strange reunion brought about by bizarre phenomena. These same phenomena may have also signaled the comeback of the Elder Dragon Nergigante, who appears at the end of the trailer. However, it will not be available to recruit as a Monstie and instead can be challenged in battle.

Alongside the Rudy DLC, a free update will also be launched—Royal Monsters will now appear on the field. To unlock this, players must complete the Final Battle in the newly added Hard Mode. Accomplishing this will turn almost all existing monsters on the map into Royal Monsters, allowing for a new dash of challenge for veterans and challenge seekers alike.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Introduces the Fallen Dragon and Eir Alongside Upcoming Updates

New Dragon

The Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion will introduce a variety of new content, including a set of new characters and faces. The heart of the expansion’s tale is the Fallen Dragon, a new character—a dragon with a hollow heart yet lives—as well as Eir, a mysterious woman who relentlessly pursues the Fallen Dragon, whose reasons for doing so will be uncovered as players journey through the new expansion.

Players are taken to a new, never-before-seen region—the frigid north of Norgan. A new region with new story content to discover, as well as 12 new dungeon challenges to take on. The expanded character editor will also feature more hairstyles and tattoos.

Despite two years passing since the base game’s release, Director Kento Kinoshita shared that the Dark Arisen expansion was developed due to players wanting to "continue playing" and to "explore the world even more," thus bringing the expansion to fruition. Newcomers will find the experience "fresh and exciting" while veteran players will enjoy a richer gameplay experience.

Title Updates 3.1 and 3.2 will be implemented before release, adding long-requested features such as the Eternal Ferrystone for unlimited fast travel between already-visited locations. There will also be additional save slots, benefits for Dragonsplague, additional treatment methods, and the increase of weapon skill slots to 6.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will be available on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S as an expansion, and as a full game bundle on the Nintendo Switch 2, starting October 9th, 2026. Pre-orders will be available at a later date.

Furthermore, the game’s first public hands-on demo will be available at Gamescom 2026 in August.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword Showcases Gameplay Against Dohatsu-ten

Dohatsu-ten Mid Ability

Onimusha: Way of the Sword gears up for its September release with a new exclusive first look at a new Genma or opponent named Dohatsu-ten. Protagonist Miyamoto Musashi is seen facing against the Dohatsu-ten, a formidable foe who also has otherworldly powers that enhance his skills.

Way of the Sword is the newest, modern entry in the long-running Onimusha series. Players will be able to experience "intense swordplay action" in an alternative dark fantasy-themed Edo-period Kyoto. As Miyamoto Musashi, a swordsman who was slain by the twisted Genma but revived with powerful Oni abilities, he reluctantly goes on a journey to find out why he was burdened with such a task and to find the reason why he fights.

A demo is also available on all its platforms, featuring a sneak peek into the game’s combat as well as a duel between Musashi and his rival, Sasaki Ganryu. Those with demo save files will receive a bonus equippable charm, Kubi Akari, when the game launches.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword releases on September 25, 2026, for Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Epic Games Store.

What To Expect In Capcom Spotlight 2026

Monster Hunter Stories 3, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

Image

Capcom has already confirmed that the showcase will feature three titles:

⚫︎ Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
⚫︎ Onimusha: Way of the Sword
 ⚫︎ Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

Of the three, Onimusha: Way of the Sword is perhaps the easiest to predict. With the action title set to launch on September 25, 2026, viewers can likely expect another look at the game ahead of release. It remains to be seen if this will come in the form of new gameplay footage or developer commentary.

Meanwhile, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen was only recently announced during the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, where it also received an October 9, 2026 release date. Since details of the expansion remain relatively limited, the Capcom Spotlight could be an opportunity for the company to further explain what’s new, including how it expands upon the original experience.

Image

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, however, has already been available since March 2026. Capcom has yet to reveal exactly what will be shown during the presentation, though the game's inclusion likely ties into the title updates and DLC that were previously announced for future release.

Among the planned post-launch additions are Royal Monsters, a new endgame challenge slated for Summer 2026, as well as Rudy's side story, which developers have suggested could arrive earlier than expected. Whether Capcom will provide release dates or reveal additional content during the Spotlight remains to be seen.
