Cairn DLC
On the Trail Releasing in August 13, 2026
On the Trail is a series of free DLC updates for Cairn, with the first installment, Deep Water, scheduled for release in August 13, 2026. This expansion introduces a brand-new "water soloing" mechanic, allowing players to scale cliffs directly above bodies of water; unlike traditional climbs where a fall is punishing, players can now drop safely into the water and immediately retry their route.
The DLC also adds three new climbing locations: Haken, Ruka, and the Lamu climbing gym, as players follow the path of a legendary mountaineer. Additionally, the update makes Marco a fully playable character alongside Aava and introduces a highly requested Free Roam mode, which removes story constraints to let players focus purely on the climb.
Cairn Now Available on PlayStation 5, Steam, Epic Games, and GOG
