Developed by MX Studio under Nexon Games in South Korea, Blue Archive is a tactical gacha RPG on mobile (Android and iOS) where players take on the role of "Sensei," guiding and deploying elite anime girls in the city of Kivotos. It debuted in Japan on February 4, 2021, followed by a global release later that year and in China on August 3, 2023. The PC version launched worldwide on July 4, 2025, and in Japan on January 20, 2026.
Several players credit Blue Archive’s success in the gacha community to its slice‑of‑life elements. Notably, it also dominated Comiket booths in Japan two years ago and ranked first on Japan’s App Store sales last year.
