Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game Gameplay
Traditional Fighting Game Controls
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game plays as a traditional 1v1 fighter built around a four-button input scheme: light, medium, heavy, and a Flow button that changes how movement and follow-ups behave.
The light/medium/heavy buttons perform context-sensitive normals when standing, crouching, or airborne, while the Flow button combines with directional inputs to access alternate follow-ups and movement options.
Flow and Transitions

Activating Flow alters the properties of attacks and enables movement-centric actions such as directional "flows" and follow-up chains that extend or redirect combos.
Based on the official "Tutorial Guide," players can use Flow both offensively (to extend pressure and create new combo routes) and defensively (to adjust spacing and avoid threats), and many special moves are designed to be linked from or into Flow transitions.
Support Characters

There are also selectable support characters that can be summoned to assist with specific utility or offensive actions; supports provide special attacks that alter a character’s playstyle and open additional combo and zoning options.
Game Modes

Avatar Legends will feature two main offline modes: Story and Arcade. Players will progress through several battles, with dialogue and narrative moments happening in between. Arcade Mode will feature unique storylines for each character in the roster.
Training Mode

Training Mode lets players test and practice their characters’ moves with access to various data, such as hitboxes, frames, save states, and more. Button inputs will also be displayed on-screen, making it easier to perform certain actions correctly.
Online Play

Players can fight with each other online in either Ranked or Casual Matches. These matches will give access to a spectator mode and replays. Moreover, players can also create custom lobbies with their own set of rules.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game Story Plot
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game frames its narrative around a single-player campaign described in promotional materials as having an original story that connects characters from across the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise. The game is confirmed to launch with a roster of twelve playable characters, including but not limited to Aang, Korra, Zuko, Azula, Toph, Katara, and Sokka.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game Setting

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game takes place in the unnamed continent that the series is set in. Four nations built around their natives' elements were formed: the Air Nomads, the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, and the Fire Nation. Years later, a movement to restore balance to the world built the United Republic of Nations, which resolves to be a bastion connecting all regions.
It is currently unclear which era Legends will be taking place in, considering how footage has shown areas from before and after the creation of the United Republic of Nations and how characters from across different points in history are interacting with each other.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game Characters
Aang

Aang is an avatar who was raised by the Air Nomads. Overwhelmed by his destiny and the expectations that come with it, he fled with his air bison Appa, where he was encased in ice for 100 years before being discovered by the siblings Sokka and Katara. He primarily employs airbending attacks to fling opponents up in the air.
Zuko

Zuko is the prince of the Fire Nation and the son of the Fire Lord, Ozai. Initially hardened by the humiliation he faced after a duel with his own father and being cast out, his heart eventually softened by his companionship with his uncle Iroh and interactions with Aang and his group. He uses fire-bending techniques.
Korra

Korra, the next avatar born after Aang's death, hails from the Southern Water Tribe. She grew up embracing her destiny and trained with several masters of the elements, including Tenzin, Aang's son. She can comfortably alternate between all four bending elements and can combo moves around them.
Zaheer

Zaheer, initially a non-bender, is a Republic City native and leader of the Red Lotus, a militant, anarchist group. Trained in martial arts and the ways of the Air Nomads, he would eventually become an airbender, using his acquired skill and knowledge throughout the years to his advantage. He is confirmed as part of the roster in Avatar Legends.
Kyoshi

Kyoshi was an avatar born in the Earth Kingdom and the predecessor of Avatar Roku. She was known to be of tall stature and a gifted warrior, utilizing a giant fan in battle. Her exploits would inspire the creation of a force of elite all-female warriors named after her, with the designation to protect her homeland. She is confirmed as part of the roster in Avatar Legends.
