CBT to Start at a Later Date
Astrae Oratio will begin accepting applications for its upcoming Closed Beta Test (CBT) in August, as announced by publisher NC through the game's official social media channels. Although the application period is scheduled to open next month, the beta itself will begin at a later date, with the full testing schedule and participation details to be shared separately through its official channels.
The announcement comes after months of teasers and promotional materials, during which NC gradually introduced Astrae Oratio’s world, characters, and setting. With CBT applications opening in August, players may not have to wait much longer before getting their first hands-on look at the upcoming RPG.
Astrae Oratio still does not have a release date. However, the game's Character Promotional Video, released in June, concludes with the phrase "Key in the Ignition for 2026." NC has yet to clarify whether the tagline points to a full launch later this year or simply the start of the game's public testing phase.
What is Astrea Oratio?
The project first surfaced as Project AT before receiving the Astrae Oratio name earlier this year. Since then, NC has slowly expanded on its setting through story trailers and promotional material. Magic exists alongside modern society, with the Special District Office serving as the government agency responsible for handling supernatural incidents across an alternate version of Tokyo.
Much of the story centers on the Shunin, a supervisor within the Special District Office who leads a group of middle school girls responsible for resolving magical incidents throughout the city. As more characters have been introduced, the promotional campaign has also offered brief looks at the game’s battles, story sequences, and the relationships among team members.
The game comes from South Korean studio Dynamis One, whose founding members previously worked on Nexon’s’ Blue Archive. Before Astrae Oratio, the studio announced Project KV, an anime-style RPG that many fans called "Red Archive" due to its similarities to Nexon’s game. This project was canceled shortly after its reveal.
