Astrae Oratio Closed Beta Test Applications Now Open
Recruitment Period Details and How to Apply
Astrae Oratio's official X (Twitter) account announced that Closed Beta Test (CBT) applications are open from August 19 at 03:00 AM UTC / August 18 8:00 PM PT / August 18 11:00 PM ET and will remain open until September 21 at 03:00 AM UTC / September 20 8:00 PM PT / September 20 11:00 PM ET. The game’s CBT is currently limited to mobile devices, covering both Android and iOS.
Applying to the closed beta only takes a few steps. Players can head to the official Astrae Oratio website, select the Apply for CBT option on the main page, then fill out a short survey to complete their application. For further details, players may refer to the notice and FAQ pages regarding the game and its CBT.
However, some requirements are worth keeping in mind. Testers must be at least 16 years old, and applicants considered minors in their country will need a guardian's consent prior. The CBT will support text in Korean, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and English, but voice acting is currently limited to Japanese. Data will be wiped once the CBT ends and won't carry over to future tests or the full launch. Additionally, test access is also tied to whichever device a player first logs in on. For technical requirements, the recommended specs list a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or A16 chip or higher, along with at least 8GB of RAM on Android or 6GB on iOS along with roughly 10GB of free storage for a smooth experience.
Players Getting Mixed Application Results
Fans’ reactions to the announcement have been a bit bumpy so far. Several players online have already reported inconsistent results when trying to apply, with some getting approved almost immediately while others are running into denials from verification issues, particularly among iOS users compared to Android.
Some also highlighted that applications opened at the same time across every region, including Japan, instead of a staggered rollout. A few players think that's what's causing the access issues, speculating that so many people applying all at once may be overwhelming the system. At this time, the developers have yet to issue a statement regarding this.
What is Astrae Oratio About?
Astrae Oratio is an upcoming magical girl anime-style RPG from South Korean developer Dynamis One and publisher NC, set in an alternate version of Tokyo where magic exists alongside modern society. Players take on the role of the Shunin, a supervisor in the Special District Office who oversees a group of middle school girls secretly responsible for handling the city's magical incidents.
The game was first revealed under the working title Project AT before being rebranded as Astrae Oratio earlier this year. Since then, the team has gradually built out the game's world and cast through trailers and character promotional videos, including footage showing off its gameplay of turn-based combat and slice-of-life moments between characters.
Dynamis One's founding members previously worked on Nexon's Blue Archive, and the studio's history hasn't been without controversy. An earlier project called Project KV drew comparisons to Blue Archive, and said project was ultimately canceled following the public backlash. However, despite this, fans who were in support of the game made a successor and retitled it to "Project VK."
