Chongxiao City and More Gameplay Details Revealed in Gamescom 2026 Trailer
ANANTA will launch worldwide on January 15, 2027, as announced by NetEase Games and Naked Rain during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. After going without an update since Tokyo Game Show 2025, the urban open-world RPG returned with a new story trailer that introduced Chongxiao, the second major city in the game, along with more footage of its cast, combat, and story. The announcement finally puts a release date on a game that has been in development for several years since its original reveal as Project Mugen back in 2023.
As a member of the organication known as ACD (Anti-Chaos directorate), players control "the Captain," also humorously known in-game as the "Yeet Master," who is expected to help deal with the problems affecting the cities and the disappearance of their father. The ACD is already struggling when the Captain takes on their role, leaving him with the task of rebuilding the organization and bringing new people into its ranks.
More than 100 NPCs will have their own stories and quests, according to NetEase in official press materials, and some of them can eventually join Captain as playable allies. Their recruitment can provide new combat abilities and items, so the relationships formed throughout the cities can directly affect the ACD's ability to operate.
The Captain is also an influencer on the city, and their reputation grows through the work they take on there. A larger folowing can unlock new resources and influencer perks.
Much of what players do take place in Chongxiao, which was shown for the first time during the Gamescom trailer. NetEase described the city as a modern metropolis influenced by Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Tokyo. Its streets are filled with places that sit outside the ACD.'s work, including restaurants, cinemas, arcades, cafés, gyms, and shops.
Skateboards, mopeds, bikes, motorcycles, and hover cars are among the transportation options shown in the trailer. However, NetEase has confirmed that players can also travel by yacht, helicopter, hang glider, and more, with the developers encouraging players to "go where you can see." The Captain can spend that time in the city in different roles, with NetEase previously showing him working as a police officer, a delivery driver, a store clerk, and so on. Each role gives him something different to do outside his work with the ACD.
ANANTA Pre-Registrations Reach 17 Million
Ananta's pre-registration campaign offers rewards at five registration milestones, with an additional reward tied to the game's social media following. The current rewards are:

The game has already passed the 15 million milestone, with more than 17.2 million pre-registrations across 110 countries and regions.
