2XKO Reveals The Rogue Assassin, Akali
Coming April 7
2XKO unveiled the gameplay trailer for its upcoming character, the rogue assassin, Akali. As announced across the game’s official social media on April 1, Ionia’s lone ninja is set to launch on April 7 alongside patch 1.1.5.
According to her official character stats on 2XKO’s X (Twitter) post, Akali is a high-mobility character capable of controlling space and creating distance using her kunai. While her vitality and power are ranked lower to balance her speed, she is designed to be beginner-friendly, making it easy for players to pick her up and learn her combos.
Gameplay Trailer Features Fast-Paced Moveset
The gameplay reveal trailer showcases a high-octane kit that translates Akali’s "Rogue Assassin" identity into a fast-paced tag-team fighter. It highlights her incredible verticality and air-to-ground transitions, featuring a "teleport-like" speed that allows her to bypass traditional neutral play.
Akali’s moveset leans heavily into her iconic tools from League of Legends, including multi-hitting kunai strikes and a flashy cinematic super attack that captures her lethal precision. As an agile rushdown character, she excels at screen navigation, using her signature Shuriken Flip to mark opponents and instantly zip across the stage for follow-up pressure.

She can also utilize her Twilight Shroud (smoke bomb) for both concealment and as a tactical repositioning tool, forcing opponents to guess between overhead and low entries. Beyond her technical prowess, fans are particularly excited to see that her moveset includes a signature Izuna Drop, a classic grappling maneuver famously used by iconic characters like Ninja Gaiden’s Ryu Hayabusa and Street Fighter’s Vega.
Overall, Akali’s synergy with the game's tag mechanics stands out, as she can safely exit a high-commitment combo by swapping with a partner or using her mobility to set up devastating cross-up assists.
The addition of the rogue assassin bolsters 2XKO's roster to 13 characters, introducing a fresh playstyle that further diversifies the tag-team fighter’s tactical depth. Developer Riot Games promised to share more details about the upcoming update as its release looms near.
