Dying Light: The Beast is the sequel to the 2015 title of the same name, bringing back Kyle Crane as its hardy protagonist. The original Dying Light was already a hit, managing to capture the perfect zombie apocalypse atmosphere with just the right amount of challenging mechanics. This DLC-turned-standalone game manages to fine-tune the good stuff about the original, proving itself to be a worthy sequel. Amped-up horror aspects, a dense open world in the countryside, and a whole lot of brutality that results in bloodbaths—it’s more or less the same as past reiterations, but better.

Hades II is the highly anticipated sequel to 2020’s Hades, following Zagreus’ younger sister, Melinoë, Princess of the Underworld, after it is taken over by the Titan of Time, Chronos, who has also taken her family hostage. It’s a game that we have previously recommended, but that’s how you know a game is good—it took everything the original was known for and made it even better.
