Young Suns Overview
Young Suns is a cozy, narrative-driven life sim for 1 to 4 players, developed and published by KO_OP, a Montréal-based independent studio also known for GNOG, Depanneur Nocturne, and Goodbye Volcano High. Set in an optimistic sci-fi future, the game takes place in the space surrounding a newly liberated Jupiter, where its inhabitants gift players a spaceship of their own to explore the surrounding stations, ruins, and planetoids.
Played from a third-person perspective, Young Suns lets players customize their ship into a personal home, gather materials while exploring, and build relationships with a large cast of NPCs who follow their own routines, hand out quests, and react to being visited. The developers have cited Animal Crossing as a key influence, and the game is built around low-pressure exploration and community-building rather than combat or strict time limits, playable solo or alongside friends in co-op.
