Where Winds Meet is expanding its server coverage with new servers for Australia, the Middle East, and South America, arriving on May 28 UTC. Here’s what players can expect from the rollout.
Where Winds Meet New Regional Servers
Rolling Out Starting May 28
Where Winds Meet announced new servers for Australia, the Middle East, and South America during the Goose News: Half-Anniversary Special broadcast on the game’s official YouTube channel on May 16, 2026. The game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account later confirmed that the rollout will begin on May 28 UTC and gradually expand over the following two to three weeks as part of a phased launch aimed at maintaining stability.
During the broadcast, Eric from the development team said, "I've also heard your feedback about latency issues. New servers [...] will be added to help provide a smooth experience for players around the world."
The server expansion follows months of player requests for additional regional support, particularly from players in Oceania who reported high latency during multiplayer content. In community discussions, one Reddit user wrote, "We really need OCE servers," while another said that "trying to play online from Australia is pretty god awful."

Players from the Middle East and South America also shared similar concerns over latency and server availability. A Reddit user from Pakistan reported getting "300+ ping," claiming that "middle east is connecting to Japan servers." South American players raised similar complaints, with one player saying that "PvP and Co-op in South America is frustrating," while another wrote that "playing online with 200+ ping is impossible" in a game built around "perfect parries, dodges and reactions."
Some players additionally criticized the game’s launch server setup, with one Reddit post stating that " there is no server selection" and describing the rollout as feeling "more like a soft-launch with a single limited server." Eric later added, "We are listening closely to your feedback" and will "continue improving the global version with more quality of life updates and system enhancements."
Imperial Palace Expansion Detailed in Roadmap Update
Alongside the server announcement, Everstone Studio also shared a new content roadmap during the broadcast hosted by the in-game mascot Goose Overlord.
The roadmap’s biggest addition is the upcoming Imperial Palace expansion, which follows the Hexi update and introduces a new palace region spanning roughly one million square meters. During the presentation, Goose Overlord described it as "practically the size of Kaifeng City itself" and said the area is "bustling with 3,000 NPCs."

The expansion will also introduce several new gameplay features, including the Homesteads system that lets players build homes and farms in Qinghe, a new weapon called the Gauntlet, furry companions, and additional multiplayer activities. These include Martial Path Domain, a five-player co-op PVE mode, and a new tomb raiding mode focused on exploration and loot collection.
Other upcoming additions mentioned during the roadmap presentation include horse racing chess, the board game Wuziqi, two-player co-op stages, and additional casual gameplay experiences. "Whether you live for combat, exploration, PvP, or just a more laid-back experience, you'll find a new obsession waiting for you," the presentation added.

Everstone Studio also said the global version has already received more than 100 updates and optimizations over the past two months, including progression adjustments intended to reduce grinding and weapon balance improvements. The studio added that future updates will continue focusing on global player feedback and server optimization.
