SHADE Protocol Welcomes CrossCode and Alabaster Dawn Collab
Three Indie Pixel Art RPGs Come Together

SHADE Protocol, an upcoming 2D cyber fantasy Metroidvania, revealed a new trailer showcasing its partnership with Radical Fish Games’ acclaimed action RPGs, CrossCode and Alabaster Dawn, bringing together three captivating game worlds known for engaging combat mechanics and smooth pixel art styles. Little Legendary Games, the developers behind SHADE Protocol, posted the trailer on their official YouTube channel on May 25th.
The 50-second-long announcement video starts off with a cinematic cutscene of SHADE Protocol’s protagonist Zura who, at a moment of weakness, is saved by her otherworldly comrades Lea (CrossCode) and Juno (Alabaster Dawn). Snippets of SHADE Protocol’s flashy 2D Metroidvania featuring Zura teaming up and eliminating enemies with combo attacks together with either Lea or Juno were also seen.
Kendall Quinones, Little Legendary Game Director, expressed his excitement for the collaboration, noting that they were "huge fans" of Radical Fish Games and their works. "CrossCode and Alabaster Dawn represent so much of what we love about indie games: depth, charm, mechanical creativity, and a clear artistic identity. [...] To have SHADE Protocol connected to those worlds in any way is incredibly meaningful for us."
Kickstarter To Launch on June 4th

The trailer also serves as a sneak peek of what SHADE Protocol has to offer ahead of its Kickstarter campaign launch on June 4th. More ambitious plans regarding the collaboration content will be locked behind "Stretch Goals" that are special milestones when certain funding goals have been acquired.
SHADE Protocol is a fast-paced, cinematic cyber-fantasy Metroidvania that follows Zura, a heroine that wields a variety of musical weapons through a desolate world overtaken by the SHADE virus. It’s up to Zura to protect the remnants of humanity through music and rewriting memories.
It has yet to reveal a release window or a release date, but the game is available to be wishlisted on its Steam storefront.
