NARUTO Mobile, a hit gacha fighting game that has been exclusive to China, is officially going global. The game is part of Project Rasengan, a multi-year plan for the Naruto franchise. Read on to learn more about the announcement and the IP's direction!
NARUTO Mobile Is Finally Going Worldwide
CN-Only Hit Leaves Region Exclusivity After Ten Years
NARUTO Mobile is officially heading overseas, as the global release was confirmed at the Naruto panel at New York Comic Con on October 10, alongside the rest of the franchise’s Project Rasengan roadmap. Developed by MoreFun Studios, the game is set to launch on iOS and Android, though a release date hasn't been announced yet. The mobile hit actually first debuted in China in May 2016, so the move to worldwide was a decade-long wait.
It is a real-time fighting game with anime-style visuals that has a large roster of shinobi from across the series. Players can collect characters from the original Naruto series, Naruto Shippuden, and the next-generation Boruto era, use their signature techniques in battle, and unleash Ultimate Jutsu attacks across story content fights and player-versus-player matches.
According to Sensor Tower, a platform that analyzes data and performance metrics, Naruto Mobile had ranked second in mobile gacha revenue for September, behind only Genshin Impact, with a whopping estimate of $35,750,000. This is a notable result, since the earnings come from China alone; Genshin’s profits, however, take into account all of its accessible regions.
Why the Ninjutsu Series Returns to the Spotlight

Project Rasengan is a three-year plan starting from 2027 to 2029, and the mobile game is only one part of it. Announcements revealed at the same New York Comic Con panel span manga, anime, games, and trading cards, with several other projects still unannounced.
The headline reveal is Naruto: Shadow Rising, a new manga drawn by original creator Masashi Kishimoto. Its teaser shows the Hokage Monument with six faces carved and a seventh still under construction, suggesting the period right before Naruto takes on the Hokage role. Though the story's setting hasn't been detailed, neither has its plot nor release schedule been announced.
The rest of the roadmap is just as busy. Naruto x Ninku is a four-episode anime crossover supervised by Kishimoto and Ninku creator Koji Kiriyama. The Naruto Card Game is targeting a worldwide launch in June 2027, with starter decks for Naruto, Sasuke, and Gaara. A live-action film from Lionsgate, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is also in the works. Further details on all of these, and the mobile will likely be shown at the upcoming Naruto Jump Super Stage at Jump Festa 2027, held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, on December 19 and 20.
