GTA 6 Revealed Six Radio Stations Voiced by Celebrities and Musicians
Different Radio Stations Give a Wide Selection of Music
Grand Theft Auto 6 has revealed the first six radio stations coming to the game, along with their celebrity hosts and a selection of songs players can expect to hear while driving around Leonida. In its October 8 blog post, Rockstar said GTA 6 will feature the "biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio and podcasts yet." Additionally, a new feature lets players listen on demand, using headphones to jam to tracks and podcasts outside their vehicles.
Rockstar has unveiled only six stations so far, along with their previews on their website. Each is hosted by its own radio personalities, many of whom are real-world musicians. First, the returning FLASH FM from the GTA: Vice City serves "non-stop all-night pop." This time, Swedish singer Robyn and model Alex Consani host it, voicing characters named after them and spinning tracks from Charli xcx, MGMT, Zara Larsson, and PinkPantheress.
Next, Cocoteo FM is a Latin music station featuring reggaeton, dembow, bachata, and merengue, hosted by El Martillo and La Gata, voiced by Bad Bunny and Puerto Rican singer RaiNao, respectively. Confirmed artists include Bad Bunny, Alex Rulay, Farruko, El Alfa, Romero Santos, and El Chaval de la Bachata. Back Country Radio brings dedicated classic country music, hosted by MW and Delta Dawne, voiced by Morgan Wallen and Lana Del Rey. Interestingly, Lana Del Rey’s real-life husband, Jeremy Dufrene, also voices Mud Dog Mike, a swamp meteorologist and roving reporter.
AfroBank FM, hosted by Burna and Palmsy and voiced by Burna Boy and Palms Trax, celebrates African music, from amapiano to 3-step. The preview showcases tracks from Asake, Pat Thomas, Ebo Taylor, Kamo Mphela, DJ Lag, and Robot Boii. Rap and hip-hop listeners can tune in to Dirty South Classics, hosted by two Miami rappers, Trick Daddy and Trina. Finally, rock and metal fans get their own station, The Chamber 106.6, hosted by DJ Kerry and DJ Tom, voiced by Slayer’s Kerry King and Tom Araya.
34-Track Original Soundtrack Album Still Scheduled for November 19
Apart from the radio stations, Rockstar Games previously announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album on September 17, featuring 34 original tracks from various artists. Following the radio station reveal, Rockstar also announced two new singles: "Suzuki" by Fuerza Regida and "Don't Chart" by Cardi B. These join the six previously released tracks featuring Yung Lean, Future, Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again, Etienne de Crécy, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, and Keith Richards.
The remaining 26 tracks have yet to be revealed, and Rockstar hasn’t confirmed whether these original songs will appear on any of the newly announced radio stations. The album is scheduled to launch alongside the game on November 19, and the full album will also be released on CD and vinyl.
Real-world music and unhinged radio shows have always been a big part of GTA's charm, making even a simple drive across the map immersive. With celebrity hosts, returning stations, and new on-demand podcasts, GTA 6 looks set to entertain players as they roam Leonida.
