Frostpunk 2 Reveals “Breach of Trust” DLC

Frostpunk 2’s second major DLC, titled "Breach of Trust," is coming this June 23 to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and MacOS. The big news was announced during 11 bit Studios’ Frostpunk Franchise Fest on YouTube as part of the studio’s initiative to bring its society survival game to a wider audience. Game director Lukasz Juszczyk, alongside other members of the development team, highlighted what lies ahead for the frost-laden franchise.
Taking place in New Edinburgh, where a massive volcano looms, the Breach of Trust DLC introduces a new way to experience 11 bit Studios’ city-builder with the "Vote of Trust" mechanic, which serves as a measure of whether players are effectively doing their job as an overseer.

The Breach of Trust will include two new scenario maps and a wealth of new content for hardcore Frostpunk players, such as:
⚫︎ 5 unique communities and factions
⚫︎ Tremors and Volcano Night mechanics
⚫︎ New custom gameplay systems and narrative events
⚫︎ An independent colony system
⚫︎ 5 new buildings and hubs
⚫︎ New Laws
Following the announcement of the second DLC, Juszczyk also reiterated that more content is planned for the Frostpunk sequel. While the DLC’s release is still a few months away, players interested in trying out the story can access early playtests now on the Frostpunk 2 official website.
Frostpunk Heads to Nintendo Switch

Alongside the upcoming Frostpunk 2 DLC, the studio is putting the first Frostpunk game on the Nintendo Switch. Game Director Jakub Stokalski announced that bringing the first game to the original Nintendo Switch console, offering a fresh way to "carrying all that guilt and harsh decisions you’ve made on the go."
While no release date has been confirmed yet, according to Stokalski, bringing the franchise to a wider audience "...is a dream come true."

Since the survival city-builder’s debut in April 2018, the Frostpunk franchise has reached a milestone of 11 million players. This turning point for the series has emboldened the developers at 11 bit Studios to create even more ways a society can crumble in the face of catastrophe.
During the Franchise Fest video, the team also confirmed that work is still underway on the Frostpunk remake, Frostpunk 1886, which will introduce a new story path alongside engine improvements. The remake’s director, Maciej Sułecki, described it as "the definitive experience of the game that started it all."

Additionally, a Frostpunk 1886 dev diary is expected to be released sometime this week, where fans can see a first taste of the new mechanics and graphical updates it has on offer.
As of writing, 11 bit Studios continues to celebrate the franchise’s success with the "Frostpunk Franchise Sale," an event where all Frostpunk content is heavily discounted across major gaming storefronts like Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox stores.
