FF7 Revelation Hides Hot Springs Across Its World Map, and Vincent's Swimsuit Is Still Undecided
Square Enix Reveals How the Hot Spring Feature Works

Final Fantasy VII Revelation (FF7) is adding a hidden-spot feature that has nothing to do with combat. The official FF7 Remake account on X was the first to announce it. It said hot springs are scattered across the game's world map, where the party can rest between adventures. Each spring offers conversations that players can only hear there. Soaking also gives a permanent max HP boost and unlocks outfit skins. The Japanese version of the post framed the feature as a tour of famous hot springs.
Hamaguchi followed up on his X account after the official post. He shared a preview of some of the hot spring events shown during Square Enix's stage presentation at San Diego Comic-Con Málaga, which ran from October 1 to 4. He said each spring gives a different look at the characters' everyday lives, and that the outfits worn in these scenes can be unlocked as skins.
FF7 Revelation is the final chapter of the FF7 Remake trilogy. Hot springs are new to the series. The original 1997 game had no hot spring feature, and its closest equivalent was the beach resort of Costa del Sol. Rebirth later expanded that resort with minigames and swimsuit outfits that the original lacked. Revelation's hot springs build on that approach with a new kind of location.
Cloud, Barret, and Red XIII Balance Rubber Chocobos in the Hotspring

The 30 second clip shared by the official account shows Cloud, Barret, and Red XIII relaxing together, each balancing a Chocobo-shaped rubber duck on their head. The official post says the hot springs have recently bubbled up out of the planet, which suggests they are a new part of the world.
Square Enix hasn't said whether the balancing is a minigame or a scripted scene that plays during a visit. The same footage also shows swimwear skins for Cloud, Barret, and Cid.
Hamaguchi Teases "Look Forward To Hot Spring Vincent"

Fans noticed that Vincent Valentine, a newly playable party member, didn't appear in swimwear in the clips. Hamaguchi had already addressed why in an IGN interview. He said the team had discussed for quite some time whether a swimsuit would suit the character.
Hamaguchi didn't disclose what the team decided. Instead, he asked players to look forward to how Vincent takes part in the hot spring scenes when the game releases. For now, whether Vincent bathes in swimwear or his usual clothes remains one of the game's smaller mysteries.

The hot springs give the party a place to slow down before the trilogy wraps up. Each visit brings character conversations, a permanent max HP boost, and unlockable outfit skins. Square Enix has yet to clarify how many hot springs there are in the game's world or how each one is found.
Vincent's role goes well beyond the hot springs. Square Enix has shared how he plays in the final chapter, including his new abilities and how he fits into the game's systems and weapons.
FF7 Revelation is due out April 8, 2027, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
