2XKO Adds Sett as a Surprise Final Champion Alongside Samira on October 27

2xko samira and sett showcase

2XKO revealed Sett as a surprise addition, joining Samira on October 27th for the final update. Read on to learn more about the announcement and other details.

2XKO's Final Update Has Sett and Samira Complete the Roster

Last Wave of New Content on October 27

Riot Games revealed that Sett will join Samira in 2XKO's final content update, arriving October 27 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. When Riot announced in August that active development would end in December 2026, Samira was the only champion left on the roadmap to be the last new character. A new gameplay trailer now shows both of them joining the cast before the game winds down in December.

Community reception has been bittersweet. A lot of players wished Riot had kept improving 2XKO instead of halting development, even more so now that Sett's surprise reveal has landed well amongst fans. Many are still excited to give him a try, as he has long been a favorite and fan-requested pick, who’s often seen as a good fit given his brawler style in League of Legends.

From Early Access to End of Active Development

2XKO first appeared as Project L at Evo 2019 before being renamed in 2024. It entered closed beta in September 2025, opened in early access on PC on October 7, 2025, and then fully launched on January 20, 2026. Less than three weeks after its release, Riot cut the size of the development team. When they announced the end of active development on August 20, it was reported that the game costs far more to operate than it earns and that engagement stayed flat despite larger updates.

Riot has since laid out a wind-down plan for the rest of the year. Every champion was unlocked for all players on September 8 alongside Lux's release, and purchases made before the announcement are being refunded. The October patch is the game's last content update, with a final bug-fix release in December. Servers, however, will stay live beyond 2026 with no specified end date at this time, and there’ll still be an official Competitive Series wrap-up in November.
