Devil May Cry 5 characters Dante, Nero, and Vergil are coming to the roguelike deckbuilder Tsukuyomi The Divine Hunter as three new playable cards. The collaboration is expected to be released alongside Tsukuyomi’s Nintendo Switch launch on April 23, 2026.

The official crossover announcement by developer COLOPL reveals that each character features unique card effects that reflect their original game’s signature hack-and-slash playstyle, considering Dante, Vergil, and Nero share the same power of the Demon Lord Sparda in their blood.

Dante, one of the legendary Sons of Sparda, gains a unique "Stylish Rank" perk, where landing more hits in a single turn raises his rank and boosts attack power within the player’s deck. Meanwhile, his motivated twin brother Vergil utilizes the "Consecration" ability, which gradually increases attack power up to ten stages each time a combo card effect is activated. Nero, on the other hand, channels his revving sword’s "Exceed," boosting a player’s attack power up to three times if the card remains in hand at the end of a turn.

Perhaps one of the more unique features of their cards is the chance to activate the gang’s iconic "Devil Trigger" or "Sin Devil Trigger" modes when specific conditions are met. These transformations enhance their combat abilities up a notch, turning them into major powerhouses, especially when paired with their signature weapons, such as Dante’s Devil Sword Sparda, Nero’s Red Queen, and Vergil’s Yamato, all of which are unlockable in-game.

Unlocking these characters becomes available midway through the game’s story. Players can choose whether to battle the Devil Hunters, though the game strongly encourages doing so, as defeating them allows the characters to be unlocked as Jinma and added to the player’s deck.

Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter and Kazuma Kaneko

Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter is developed by Kazuma Kaneko, a veteran ATLUS designer known for creating the iconic demons in the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series. Throughout the game, players will notice that the cards reflect his signature style, all while introducing a familiar deckbuilding experience.

Tsukuyomi incorporates familiar roguelike elements popularized by titles like Mega Crit’s Slay the Spire series, but adds its own unique twists like the "Okami System," a form of generative AI that uses Kaneko’s unique art style to create new cards.

This is not the first time CAPCOM’s Devil May Cry series has collaborated with Kazuma Kaneko. In the 2003 classic Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, where Kaneko served as character designer and co-producer, a major DMC crossover event added Dante into the plotline. The collaboration left a lasting mark on the SMT series’ legacy and even became the subject of countless community memes.

Tsukuyomi The Divine Hunter is now available on PC via Steam, Android, and iOS, with the Nintendo Switch version launching on April 26, 2026, for $24.99.
