Aion 2 Reaches the Skies and Around the World
Aion 2’s global server has been announced by developers NCSoft and is scheduled for release sometime in 2026, though a specific date is yet to be announced. The game’s worldwide launch was announced through an official announcement trailer, with a tweet from Aion’s official Twitter (X) account hinting at more reveals and showcases from the development team in May.
Aion 2’s Steam and Purple Launcher pages, which now lets players add the game to their wishlists, has noted that it will be exclusively available on PC. This indicates that the game will be moving away from mobile platforms and focusing primarily on its PC release.
NCSoft has specified that the game will be receiving dedicated servers in four regions, those being North America, South America, Europe, and Japan, as part of its global launch.
Aion 2 Fans Are Skeptical of the Full Release

The announcement of Aion 2’s worldwide release has mostly been mixed, with fans across social media being excited for the opportunity to experience the game’s fast-paced, aerial PvE and PvP gameplay while being skeptical of the game’s performance on PC and how NCSoft will handle monetization. Aion 2, which initially launched in November 2025 in Korea and Taiwan for PC and mobile, was met with negative reception due to server issues and aggressive monetization and "pay to win" tactics, which were so severe that NCSoft’s stock price dropped by 15% during the game’s release.
NCSoft has since apologized for the game’s negative launch, with subsequent updates slowly fixing the game by stabilizing the servers and adjusting monetization to make crucial items like Combat Enhancement Scrolls and Soul Books easier to obtain without microtransactions. The developers have also been adamant about maintaining open communication with the playerbase, with the following patches targeting player-requested changes.

Despite more positive fan reception for the game after these changes, players still remain mixed on Aion 2 due to NCSoft’s history of heavy, aggressive monetization across their games. While the developers’ statement surrounding the game’s initial launch had noted that fixing these issues in time was crucial for the game’s global release, it remains to be seen if the game will add even more new features and fixes to win back the playerbase’s goodwill.
