State of Decay 3 Overview
State of Decay 3 is the third installment in the acclaimed State of Decay series by Undead Labs. This next entry promises significant improvements to its base-building, resource management, and survival mechanics in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies.
Like its predecessor, State of Decay 3 will feature four-player co-op, allowing players to scavenge for supplies and manage a community of survivors. In this third installment, Undead Labs aims to expand the post-apocalyptic world with enhanced visuals and deeper survival systems, delivering a richer experience for both solo and cooperative play.
State of Decay 3 has no definite release date yet, but it’s coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S.

State of Decay 3 Gameplay
State of Decay 3 is played from a third-person perspective, similar to its predecessors. While no full gameplay footage has been officially released yet, aside from brief snippets shown in the latest playtest announcement, there are already noticeable improvements in both graphics and gameplay from what has been previewed.
When the game was first announced six years ago during the 2020 Xbox Game Showcase, no gameplay was shown, and even the studio head admitted that the game didn’t truly exist at that time. Now, with the imminent playtest, players will finally get a hands-on look at the evolving survival experience.
