FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves is a 2D fighting game developed and published by SNK. The game is also part of the historic Fatal Fury franchise, one of the most popular franchises during the arcade boom in the 90s.
Serving as the sequel to SNK’s Garou: Mark of the Wolves back in 1999, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves marks the franchise’s return after 26 long years. One of the directors of the title, Yasuyuki Oda, confirmed that despite the game being the ninth game in the mainline series, it is the seventh canonical continuation of the story.

FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves Gameplay
In terms of gameplay mechanics, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves will retain many of the existing mechanics that the previous iteration had. However, the game will have a unique meter system called the REV System, which ties all of the existing mechanics and adds layers of depth on top.
The game will have a slew of single-player modes, like Episodes of South Town (EOST) and Arcade Mode, and other fighting game staple game modes like Local and Online Versus modes. Other auxiliary modes are also available, like Color Edit Mode and Jukebox Mode, where you can personalize your characters and listen to various tracks of the Fatal Fury series, respectively. Lastly, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves will launch with full crossplay as well as rollback netcode for an accessible and inclusive online experience.
FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves Characters
Rock Howard
Rock Howard is the protagonist of the Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves and City of the Wolves subseries of games. He is Geese Howard's son, but was raised by Terry Bogard and generally has a compassionate demeanor while struggling with his father's dark side. In-game, Rock is a simple jack-of-all-trades, master of none shoto-type character with a very well-rounded moveset for all sorts of situations.
Terry Bogard
Terry Bogard, South Town's Legendary Hungry Wolf is the protagonist of the Fatal Fury series. A charismatic, confident, and laid-back fighter, he took Rock under his wing after he defeated his father, Geese, in the events of the last Fatal Fury game. He plays as an all-rounder with a focus on rushdown, aggression, and heavy damage, but struggles with opening opponents' defense.
Mai Shiranui
Mai Shiranui is the latest practitioner of Shiranui-style ninjutsu, and is a staple of most SNK fighters. In City of the Wolves, she leaves her clan to investigate her clanmates' disappearances throughout South Town. She plays as a defensive character with a focus on her range and projectiles.
B Jenet
B. Jenet is the captain of the LIlien Knight pirate crew and is a lively, fun-loving extrovert with a love for money. She joined the upcoming King of Fighters tournament to settler her differences with Kain Heinlen and Grant. In-game, she's a very technical and precise character with a focus on her mobility.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese football player for Al Nassr FC is one of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves' stranger crossovers characters. In the game's lore he visits South Town to practice his football skills. He plays as a strong zoner with his magical soccer ball attacks, while also having strong offense and combo damage.
