Shangri-La Frontier Presentation Highlights Combat and Story
The Seven Colossi’s Real-Time Action RPG Combat, Boss Raids, and More

Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Colossi received new gameplay footage highlighting the game’s real-time, action RPG combat and the creation of the game. Presented at Tokyo Game Show 2026, Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Colossi is an action RPG releasing for mobile platforms and PC sometime in 2026. The game is set in the Shangri-La Frontier universe and aims to take the anime’s in-universe video game setting into a real-world game.
The game was presented by Kim Kyoung-ryul, Development Executive Producer at Netmarble Nexus, highlighting the team’s four main goals for developing the game: creating an original experience, staying faithful to the source material, maintaining a strategic battle system, and designing the Seven Colossi.

In a showcase and talk session with cosplayer Enako, key parts of Seven Colossi’s gameplay loop were revealed. These include the game’s combo-based, action RPG combat, character switching, resource management, and parry mechanics. There will also be occasional Quick-Time Events (QTEs) featuring characters like Sunraku performing attack sequences against enemies and bosses.
Characters within the party will also have shared attacks called "Link Strikes," which were showcased between Oikatsu and Psyger-0. These Link Strikes can be accessed after building up enough meter and resources during battle. The game also features multiplayer boss raids between the aforementioned Seven Colossi, and it has been stated that it is strongly recommended to complete these with a full party.
Shangri-La Frontier’s Cast, Now in An Actual Video Game

Alongside the gameplay, certain story elements were also shown in the Seven Colossi showcase. C2C, the animation studio behind Shangri-La Frontier’s anime adaptation, has been confirmed to be collaborating with Netmarble Nexus in the development of the game. A new promotional video was presented, highlighting the game’s cast as they fight to defeat the Seven Colossi.
The game’s story elements have also been presented, namely through interactions that recreated the events of the anime. The pilot episode, for instance, was mainly recreated through the game’s RPG-style 3D character portraits and text boxes. Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Colossi seems to be closely following the events of the original story, expanding upon the narrative through in-depth looks at other characters and even new additions like a teased original boss character.
