Persona 4 Revival Reworks Its Classic Soundtracks
More Vocal Tracks Planned for the Remake
Persona 4 Revival will reimagine some instrumental tracks from the original Persona 4 as vocal songs, with ATLUS Sound Team composer Ryota Kozuka confirming the change during the September 19 broadcast. One given example is "A Sky Full of Stars -Revival-," a new vocal arrangement of the instrumental track from Persona 4 Golden.
Kozuka explained that the team approached the remake's soundtrack with the original Persona 4 music's atmosphere in mind. As the game evolved through its updated visuals, presentation, and gameplay, the team considered what kind of music the new version required. Some tracks received faithful updates, while others were given more extensive rearrangements. Kozuka said the resulting changes may surprise players familiar with the original soundtrack.
"A Sky Full of Stars" is an example of this. The track was composed and arranged by Atsushi Kitajoh for Persona 4 Golden and appeared on its 2012 original soundtrack as an instrumental piece. The soundtrack credits contain no vocalist or lyricist for the track, and it was used as the game's nighttime music. Kozuka confirmed that more such songs are planned for Revival.
Shiori Sasaki is the vocalist for the remake's new vocal material. Kozuka said the two worked through each song together during production, with the team experimenting with and refining the arrangements. The soundtrack also involves composers, arrangers, instrumentalists, ATLUS Sound Team members, and outside collaborators.
Several other vocal tracks have already been revealed. "Reach Out To The Truth -Revival-" features Sasaki on vocals and reworks the original battle theme composed by Shoji Meguro. "Prime Time Golden Hour Show" is a new battle song composed by the ATLUS Sound Team and performed by Sasaki. "True Story -Revival-" features Rie Kugimiya as Rise Kujikawa and was released on September 19.
ATLUS has yet to reveal which other original instrumental tracks will receive vocal versions, but players will be able to hear the full range of Persona 4 Revival’s musical changes when the game releases on February 18, 2027. For more on Persona 4 Revival’s release, check out our article below!
