Aika Nakamura Gets a Social Link in Persona 4 Revival
The Aiya Delivery Girl Returns in the Remake
Persona 4 Revival confirmed Aika Nakamura will have her own Social Link during the Persona 4 Revival broadcast on September 19. Aika is the daughter of the owners of Aiya, the same Chinese restaurant players can go to in-game for the Mega Beef Bowl Challenge. She helps run the family business and handles its delivery service.
Aika was originally created for 2011’s Persona 4: The Animation, where she is introduced as Yu Narukami's classmate. The anime's official character page identifies her as the daughter of Aiya's owners and says that she helps at the restaurant. It also notes that Aiya had recently started a delivery service, which became a central part of Aika's appearances throughout the anime.
Her delivery work became a recurring part of Persona 4: The Animation. Aika frequently appears around Inaba as she carries out orders from Aiya, including even absurd situations like while the characters are being chased. The character also received additional material through the anime's supplemental audio dramas.
One of those dramas could be particularly relevant to her new Social Link. Perfect Delivery, an audio drama included with the limited-edition Blu-ray and DVD release of Persona 4: The Animation Volume 8, centers on Aika and her work at Aiya. Yu is asked to help at the restaurant after Aika's mother hurts her back, which gives the two characters an opportunity to spend time together. The story also explores Aika's attachment to her delivery work and her place in the family business.
Perfect Delivery already gave Aika and Yu an established connection through her work at Aiya, which could give Atlus existing character material to revisit or expand through the Social Link system. Atlus has not said that the new Social Link will adapt the audio drama, so any direct connection between the two remains unconfirmed.
All that’s confirmed is that she is now a Social Link character tied to the protagonist’s relationships in Inaba, which may be enough for fans of the character given her relatively limited appearances.
Aika's connection to the Persona 4 games has previously been minimal. Persona 4 Golden references her through Aiya's owner, who mentions his daughter when discussing the restaurant. Aika herself does not appear in Persona 4 Golden. She later appears in Persona 4: The Golden Animation, but for years, that’s about it.
Her absence from Persona 4 Golden led to requests for Aika to receive a Social Link. A 2013 GameFAQs poll asked players which additional character they would have wanted as a Social Link in Persona 4 Golden. Aika received 38 of the poll's 90 votes, or 42.22%. She had the largest share among the listed choices. Aika also appeared in a 2015 ranking published by Operation Rainfall, where the site's "Top Ten Persona 4 Girls" list placed Aika at No. 8.
Hanako Ohtani Confirmed to Be in Persona 4 Revival
Aika is not the only anime-original character making the jump to Persona 4 Revival. Hanako Ohtani was also created for Persona 4: The Animation, and she appears in the remake and may even be a part of the new Location Episodes feature. She is seen talking about Yosuke with the protagonist and giving him a photograph.
Hanako is a student at Yasogami High School in the anime. She did not appear in the original Persona 4 game, though she later returned in Persona 4: The Golden Animation.
Persona 4 Revival brings both Aika and Hanako into the game for the first time. The latest material also confirms that the two have known each other since childhood, which gives Aika another connection to Inaba's cast.
Persona 4 Revival is scheduled to release on February 18, 2027, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled to launch on May 20, 2027. For more on the game’s release, check out our article below!
