Apex Legends VS Street Fighter 6 Event Launches September 22
Ryu and Chun-Li Enter Apex Legends With Hadoukens, Fighter Form, and 8 Crossover Skins
Apex Legends is officially crossing over with Street Fighter 6 in a major collaboration event launching on September 22, 2026, as announced by Respawn Entertainment and Capcom. The energetic reveal trailer brings iconic martial arts action to the Outlands, previewing fighting game abilities, third-person combat, and themed cosmetics coming to the battle royale.
The collaboration brings a fighting-game redesign to Olympus, Apex Legends' floating city map, transforming the Fight Night boxing arena into Luke's Gym—a nod to the training facility run by Street Fighter 6 protagonist Luke, where stepping inside the ring immediately activates Fighter Form. Players can also track down and destroy Punch Trucks across the arena, an homage to Street Fighter’s classic car-smashing bonus stages that rewards players with Fight Gauge tokens to fuel their special abilities.
In the limited-time Wildcard Takeover, players can equip Fighter Gear channeling Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma, and Dhalsim to unleash signature moves like the Shin Shoryuken uppercut and Kikosho blasts. Charging the Fight Gauge unlocks Fighter Form—a temporary state that pulls the camera into a third-person perspective, granting active blocking, damage reduction, and rapid martial arts combos to brawl opponents without firearms.

The event features eight Legendary crossover skins that pair Apex Legends with their Street Fighter counterparts based on combat silhouette and personality. The lineup includes Sparrow as Ryu, Alter as Chun-Li, Mirage as Luke, Gibraltar as Akuma, Wattson as Cammy, Caustic as Blanka, Pathfinder as Dhalsim, and Bangalore as Elena.
Alongside the character skins, the event introduces the Hadouken Mythic Universal Melee. Unlike traditional character-bound Heirlooms, Universal Melees can be equipped by any Legend on the roster. The cosmetic cloaks the player’s fists in Ryu’s signature blue ki energy, complete with custom inspect animations, classic arcade sound effects, and unique third-person strike visuals. Landing the final blow on an opponent also leaves behind a custom Street Fighter-themed Deathbox.
Completing in-game event challenges also awards Zenny, a limited-time event currency used in the Reward Shop to unlock an Epic Lifeline x Li-Fen skin and themed weapon wraps for weapons like the Flatline, R-99, Volt, and Peacekeeper.
Fans Praise Fighting Mechanics, But Question Event Costs

Community reception to the reveal has been largely enthusiastic, with players praising Respawn's ambition in bringing authentic fighting game mechanics into an FPS battle royale. The temporary shift to a third-person camera during Fighter Form, the Punch Truck bonus stage homage, and faithful skin adaptations like Wattson's Cammy and Alter's Chun-Li have stood out as major highlights among fans across social media.
However, familiar concerns regarding monetization have surfaced within the player base. Given the milestone structure of previous Apex Legends events, players anticipate that unlocking the Hadouken Mythic Universal Melee and collecting the full set will require opening dozens of premium event packs or spending well over $100. While the free Reward Shop offers cosmetics through gameplay, many community members remain cautious about the overall price tag attached to the event's top-tier items.
