Regardless of who you choose for your party, we recommended having a Garchomp in your team for the first tournament. A Garchomp with the Tera type and moveset listed above will allow coverage for the various types of Pokemon that appear in the game, and due to its high base stats, you can often ignore type resistances if you raise its level high enough.

Best Pokemon for Money Farming

Academy Ace Tournament

Taking on the Academy Ace Tournament repeatedly is the fastest method to make money in the game. This is unlocked after beating the game and inspecting all 8 Gyms in behalf of the Pokemon League.

Hisuian Zoroark's Happy Hour combined with an Amulet Coin will drastically increase your prize money, making this easily the fastest way to farm money.

Team Setup

Pokemon Description
Hisuian Zoroark ImageHisuian Zoroark
(DLC Pre-Order Gift)
Nature: Modest
EV: Speed, Special Attack
Held Item: Amulet Coin
Move to Use: Memento & Happy Hour
Starting the battle with Hisuian Zoroark allows you to use Happy Hour immediately. This ensures that all Pokecoins obtained from this match will be doubled, and this effect stacks with other money-related factors such as Amulet Coin
▶︎ How to Get Memento on Hisuian Zoroark
Sylveon ImageSylveon Nature: Modest
EV: Defense, Special Attack, Agility
Held Item: Choice Specs
Move to Use: Hyper Voice
Sylveon's hidden ability, Pixilate, can turn its Normal-type moves into Fairy-type to capitalize on its strength.
▶︎Best Sylveon Money Farming Build

Using Hisuian Zoroark's Happy Hour effectively doubles all Pokecoins earned during the battle, which stacks on top of the Amulet Coin's effect. Afterwrads, it can use Memento to knock itself out to switch into Sylveon.

With Sylveon's high Sp. Atk, and the boost it receives from Pixilate, and the inclusion of Choice Specs it can OHKO any Pokemon that could be sent out by any trainer that appears at the Academy Ace Tournament. This allows you to gain the most money possible, in the shortest amount of time.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step # How to Farm Money from
1 Use Happy Hour using Hisuian Zoroark to double the money obtained at the end of the match.
2 Use Memento to knock Zoroark out to switch into Sylveon safely.
Don't worry about Zoroark's HP as it will get revived after every round.
3 Switch into Sylveon and repeatedly use Hyper Voice to KO opposing Pokemon.
4 After defeating the first trainer, repeat steps 1~3 until you win the tournament.

Total Money Earned

Prize Money Comparison
Amount Earned Sylveon + Zoroark Solo Sweeper
Per Trainer Battle Around ₽54,400 Around ₽52,800
Total Earned Per Tournament Around ₽217,600 Around ₽105,600
₽/min ₽14,000/min Around ₽7,800/min

The above times and money earned were the average actual experience of Game8's play testers. The total amount earned and time to defeat will vary depending on the players' input speed and opponent.

Compared to the solo farming strategy, this strategy requires more preparation, including getting and building a Hisuian Zoroark with Happy Hour which is quite tedious to obtain. This strategy also requires following certain steps, unlike the solo strategy where you only need to repeatedly use the same move.

You Can Also Use a Single Pokemon

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - Solo Run

If you do not have access to Hisuian Zoroark, using one strong Pokemon to defeat all trainers in the tournament is a simpler way to farm money.

Pokemon to Use

Pokemon Description
Sylveon ImageSylveon Nature: Modest
EV: Defense, Special Attack, Agility
Held Item: Amulet Coin
Move to Use: Hyper Voice
Sylveon is a good alternative for Flutter Mane, who is a Scarlet-exclusive Paradox Pokemon, or the Legendary Chi-Yu. Its hidden ability, Pixilate, can turn its Normal-type moves into Fairy-type to capitalize on its strength.
▶︎Best Sylveon Money Farming Build
Chi-Yu ImageChi-Yu Nature: Modest
EV: Defense, Special Attack
Held Item: Amulet Coin
Move to Use: Dark Pulse
Chi-Yu's Dark Pulse is a recommended move to farm the Academy Ace Tournament as it can flinch enemies, allowing you to attack consistently without taking damage.
Flutter Mane ImageFlutter Mane
(Scarlet Exclusive)
Nature: Modest
EV: HP, Special Attack
Held Item: Amulet Coin
Move to Use: Moonblast
Should you own Pokemon Scarlet or have managed to trade a Flutter Mane, using its Level 84 learned move Moonblast can wipe out foes quickly.
Koraidon ImageKoraidon
(Scarlet Exclusive)
Nature: Adamant
EV: HP, Attack
Held Item: Choice Band
Move to Use: Iron Head
Though not naturally learned, teaching Koraidon Iron Head is recommended as flinched foes can easily be defeated especially with Koraidon's high Attack stat.
Miraidon ImageMiraidon
(Violet Exclusive)
Nature: Modest
EV: HP, Special Attack
Held Item: Wise Glasses
Move to Use: Flash Cannon
Giving Miraidon Wise Glasses as well as teaching it Flash Cannon can increase Miraidon's Special Attack while lowering the Special Defense of foes, knocking them out fast.

These Pokemon are meant to complete the Academy Ace Tournament as quickly as possible while holding a Amulet Coin to maximize money received. Having this setup aims to defeat opponents in one blow, allowing you to farm the tournament and rack up money along the way.

Note that the Koraidon and Miraidon's setup does not have them hold the Amulet Coin, which may be less efficient compared to the other three when it comes to money gained. Instead, their setup is geared towards beating the tournament as quickly as possible for farming.

Having one Pokemon in your party as well has having the recommended move as the top option in battle removes the prompt of having to switch Pokemon after beating an enemy Pokemon, allowing you to just mash the A button repeatedly until you've completed the entire tournament.

(No, I am not ChatGPT, or the original commentor) In summary, They beat the dlc's and the base game, and they recommend using Terapagos. They say to get the best Terapagos build, you need Bottle caps, an Assault vest, 26 hp up, 25 calcium, 1 iron, and a use modest mint before you begin the rest of the items. Use the vitamins, and then hyper train. Terestalize immediateyl, and use its stellar attack to OHKO all opponets. They also reccomend using PP ups to 8pp as some opponets use protect.
